(Third person, Lee Know's perspective)

Lee Know dragged a hand through his hair, trying to clear his mind. His thoughts kept flashing back to Ava practically hanging out of the window, trying to save a man who in his eyes didn't really deserve it. It baffled him how selfless Ava was, willing to give up her life for a person she didn't even know. What baffled him more was how fast he got to her. When he heard her voice through the comms, it was like his body just took over. No thought about it, he just started running. He flinched when he heard a knock on his door, thoughts scattering.

"Hey, Lee Know. Can I come in?"

He felt his heart speed up as Chan's voice filtered through the door. He got up off his bed and opened the door, shoving his hands into his pockets.

"Was there something you wanted to tell me?" he asked, voice wavering.

"No, I actually just wanted to congratulate you on what you did today. In the four years that I have known you, you have never done something like what you did today."

"What do you mean? I've saved all your lives more than once."

"Yes, you have. But you have never directly disobeyed my orders to save a teammate. I told you to stay put, and yet you still ran off to help her. Why is that?"

"I guess... I guess I was just looking out for the newbie. That's all"

Chan gave him an unsure look, making him swallow hard. Then Chan left him, even though Lee Know could sense he had more questions. He gave an audible sigh when the door clicked closed behind his Hyung. If he was being honest with himself, he didn't know why he did it. And he didn't know what the strange feeling in his chest was. All he knew was it was working on his nerves.

(First person, Ava's perspective)

When we got back to the dorms, I went into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water, but just as I reached for the fridge door handle, pain shot up my arm. I clutched my shoulder, massaging it to get the pain away.

"Hey, you okay?" I heard Hyunjin ask, making me turn around.

"Yeah, just a bit painful."

He opened the fridge, handing me a bottle of water, like he could read my mind. When I took it and tried to open it, I almost dropped the bottle from how my hands shook. He gently took it from me, opening it for me and handing it back.

"I heard you and Felix are taking Han some cookies later for when he can eat solid food again. Maybe you should schedule an X-ray while you're there. I don't want this getting worse."

He gently touched my upper arm, and surprisingly it didn't hurt. His fingertips were soft on my skin.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea."

I smiled at him and lowered my head, brushing some hair behind my ear and wincing at the pain in my arm.

"You know what? You go sit down. I'll get you anything you want. You should rest your arms."

"No that's okay. I'm sure the muscles are just a bit overextended. I'll be fi-"

"I'm not taking no for an answer. If you don't go sit down, I'll make you."

"Oh, getting frisky, now are we?" I heard Felix ask from behind me. I started giggling, making Hyunjin blush even harder than he did a second before.

"But maybe you should sit down, Ava. He's got a point."

I rolled my eyes, but I knew I couldn't change their minds. I reluctantly trudged over to the couch in the living room. I sat down, crossing my legs, and leaning my head back. The events of the day came rushing into my mind. How sure I felt of myself. How scared I felt when I almost went over the edge while trying to save the guy. How it felt having Lee Know's hands clasping mine while we pulled the guy up. I hadn't even realised how close he must have been to me. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Then I remembered how he wouldn't look at me afterwards, something twisting in my chest because of it. Something like confusion or guilt.
