(Third person, Chan's perspective)
After Lee Know had practically ran out of Ava's room, the members just let Ava cry and tire herself out. They all knew there wasn't much else they could do for her as long as she was crying, and they didn't want to risk making it worse. So when she started quieting down, Chan chased the younger members out of the room, Felix and him being the only ones left.
Eventually she got completely quiet, her shaky breaths and bloodshot eyes the only remnants left behind from her crying session. Chan got on his haunches in front of her, trying to seem as non-threatening as possible.
"Can we help you get settled for the night?"
It took Ava a while to look up at Chan and seem as if she registered what he said, but eventually she nodded. So, while Chan slowly and gently helped her up off the floor, Felix made a comfortable little spot in her bed for her, tucking her in when she got under the covers. Then they both told her to get some rest before leaving her, softly closing the door behind them on their way out. Chan was about to go check on Lee Know when Felix patted him on the shoulder.
"Hyung, do you..."
Felix hesitated, his words drifting away in the air around him and Chan. Chan just turned all his attention to the blond boy, a little worried about what he wanted to say. When Felix seemed to be struggling with his words, Chan spoke.
"It's okay, take your time," he said softly, Felix seeming to appreciate it.
"Do you think Ava will ever get better?"
The question was a slight shock to Chan, bringing up a lot of unanswered questions that he had been thinking up for the last couple of days. He really didn't know how to answer Felix's question because he himself had no idea how to answer his own questions.
"If I'm being honest, I have no idea. I think it's too early to tell. But right now, all we can do for her is be there to support her, as well as be there for Lee Know. They're both struggling."
Felix nodded at that, thanking his Hyung before heading off in the opposite direction. If Chan was being honest with himself, he knew that Ava needed more than just their help, but he didn't have the heart to tell her that in fear of her believing they didn't want to help anymore. So he settled for just hoping that everything would turn out ok, even though his gut told him the complete opposite.
(First person, Ava's perspective)
Once I was safely tucked into bed and Chan and Felix's conversation outside my door had died down, I became aware of another noise. Something a lot more worrying. And heart-breaking. It sounded like someone was sobbing. Not just sobbing. It sounded like someone's heart was audibly breaking in two, falling in pieces into the dark abyss that was left behind in the person's chest.
I slowly crept out of bed, my body feeling weak from crying so much, but I just pushed it aside, determined to help however was crying. I walked to my door, softly opening it. I scanned the corridor, making sure no one else was there who could possibly see me and tell me to get back in bed before I followed the sound of the cries to Lee Know and Chan's bedroom door. I slowly edged closer to the door, pressing my ear to it to distinguish who it was.
It felt like someone had taken an ice-cold blade and sliced right through my chest when the realisation hit, the shock stealing my breath and making me quietly gasp. The person screamed about how they had let someone down, their voice ending in another broken sob. But I didn't pay any attention to the words. I only heard the broken voice. The agonizing, heart-rending sobs of the man that I considered my future. It was Lee Know.
