Emilia

chapter 14

Emilia and Mason did their hardest not to laugh. Dante had just walked in, he was fuming and instantly he started shouting at Mason.

Emilia felt bad but the scene before her was too funny it was worth it.

This time they had used the markers and turned him into a pirate.

"Aren't you suppose to be the responsible adult. Why the hell did you do this again"   Dante shouted

Emilia bit her cheek to stop herself from laughing. She silently walked round to Dante who didn't look to happy but she quickly hugged him.  He didn't hesitate to hug her back. Finally Emilia let go and Dante seemed to have calmed down. Emilia tried her best not to smile as she took one of the kitchen knives from the block and handed it Dante.

"What's this for" he asked.

"Well unless you have a sword it will have to do. All pirates need a sword but a knife will do" she said.
Mason started to laugh and Emilia couldn't help herself any longer.

"What are you guys laughing at" Matteo said walking in. He paused when he saw Dante and started laughing.

Dante was not impressed.

"I swear to god I live with children " Dante said waving the knife around in frustration.

"Well technically " Matteo started about to point out he and Emilia weren't adults yet.

"I have a idea" Mason interrupted, a mischivious smirk now present on his face.

Everyone then watched as he stood and walked over to a cabinet where he took out a first aid kit. He took something out and walked out of the room.

"Well that was a let down" Matteo said as he started making breakfast.

10 minutes later, Dante and Matteo were almost done with breakfast when Mason came in. He walked behind Dante and seconds later Dante had an eye patch.

Mason had taken it out of the room so he could colour it black with a marker leaving a small white skull shape in the middle.

He attached the patch over his eyes with a bandage around to keep it in its place.

Emilia didn't bother stopping herself from laughing. It was just too funny. Matteo was struggling to breathe.

Dante just glared at his brothers and sister "you think you can get away with this" he asked.
"I wasn't a part of it" Matteo said quickly.

Dante glared at Matteo who gulped "fine but you two won't get away with this"  he finally said.

Mason and Emilia were trying not to laugh further.

"You're wrong Damon will protect me" Emilia said.

The boys all knew that was true.

"But he's not here" Dante countered.

Emilia hesitated, she trusted her brothers, she really did but there was always that uneasiness, always that feeling they could decide they don't want her anymore. Especially after everything with Henry, she was even more nervous around them.

"I'll tell him when he gets back" she countered.

"Maybe then it will be too late" Dante said.

"Oh yeah? What's the plan then? What are you going to do?" Emilia asked, she was a little scared of the anwser.

Dante really didn't know. He had very little experience of getting revenge in a non violent way. He also didn't want to do anything non violent that could trigger her.
