"you should tell your brothers" Antonio said as they headed out of school.

"No. I don't want to annoy them any further" Emilia said.

Antonio didn't know what to do. He wanted to respect her choice but at the same time he didn't want to overstep.

Eventually he decided to respect her decision "fine but please talk  to me or come to me if it ever happens again, I won't be annoyed" he said, not wanting her to be alone in her thoughts.

"Thank you Antonio" Emilia really did appreciate him and as they hugged she found herself not wanting it to end but of course it had to end because they both needed to go home.

She silently walked to her brothers who were talking to random cheerleaders. She noticed Zach and Xavier across the car park. She knew Zach had some issues with birth mum but she didn't want to approach him as he looked happy, she didn't want to bring up bad memories.

Dante and Matteo sent the cheerleader's on their way  when they saw their sister, they didn't know what she had done last night so they were still very talkative.

They headed home with Matteo doing most of the talking. Dante would occasionally add something but he more or less was focused on Emilia who wasn't doing any talking. He looked back at her through the mirror with concern a few times.

When they got home she went straight to her room. She knew she was grounded. It wasn't the first time so she knew it wasnt the same as it was with Henry and Alice.

She opened up her only assignment...on the Mafia.

Sure it was interesting knowing about why people commit crime, it was also interesting knowing about organised crime and other types.... but child abuse.

She couldn't do it. She knew her dad would find out she skipped class and that would get her in more trouble. They had been learning about organised crime for a few weeks, she couldn't skip a few weeks. She closed the assignment with her mind set on changing to a different class. She could tell her dad or brothers but she was suppose to be getting better. She was suppose to be the perfect child. Or at least that's what she had always thought.

If she was good enough, she might not get beaten so she tried to be perfect. Obviously it was never good enough.

But she still feared her grades slipping, or doing something they wouldn't approve of...but yet she did last night.

They were so angry, her dad seemed to be less angry this morning but Damon wouldn't even acknowledge her.

Dinner time was soon after and she had to see them. She didn't want too, she just hoped they hadn't shared what she had done with her other brothers. She couldn't stand the thought of them all hating her.

After everyone was seated. Alesandro like always asked his children about their day. Emilia shuddered as she thought about how it ended.

Child abuse.

She had to pretend it didn't bother her.

Damon wouldn't acknowledge her presence so she couldn't go to him like she always did.

"Emilia"

She snapped out of her thoughts and looked towards her father who didn't look angry.
"Yeah?"

"I asked how your day was" Alesandro said once he saw he had her attention.

She was a little confused why he was asking, wasn't he angry with her. Why would he care.

"It was fine" she replied not wanting to show how she truly was feeling.

Dante knew something was wrong so he thought mentioning her criminology class would have her talking especially since she was insulting Damon and there was nothing Damon could do about it.

"Did you learn anything. Isn't today the day you have criminology. How was that?"

Emilia really wished he hadn't have asked.
"Same as usual" she quickly replied.

Everyone saw something was wrong. Even Damon who despite not acknowledging her, he was listening however he and Alesandro figured her mood was due to last nights events.

"So no mafia insult today" Matteo asked also concerned at why she didn't have one.

Damon and Alesandro figured she was to scared since she had met Damon whilst he was in mafia mode.

Emilia quickly caught on, they expected her to insult the Mafia but that was the furthest thing from her mind.

"Nothing more to say. I still think he's a weird creep who hides his face because he's super ugly"

Dante laughed slightly and Matteo smiled.

Damon however was even more angry. He suddenly stood up. "Emilia let's go" he said causing his brothers and father to look at him in a little shock.

"She's eating Damon, she won't be going anywhere" Alesandro said with a little authority in his tone.

Damon rolled his eyes but nodded and sat back down.

Emilia shakely ate her food. She was thankful her dad had stopped him and once she had finished her food, Alesandro had her wash up as part of being grounded but after that she quickly hurried to her room.

It wasn't long before Damon entered. It suprised Emilia that he didn't even knock.

"Let's go for a little drive Emilia" he said with no emotion.

"I have homework and dad said I'm grounded so I can't go out" Emilia didn't want to go anywhere with Damon. She was afraid.

"You can do your homework later. As for being grounded, I'll tell dad later that you came because I insisted" Damon said. His words seemed normal but there was a undertone of maliciousness.

She didn't want to anger him so she nodded and followed him out.

"Where are we going" she dared ask.

He didn't respond.
