Clara refused a full check up so the doctor had just made sure she wasn't shot and then talked about a concussion.

In the end, Callum decided he was hungry so took them to the kitchen and for the first time in a while Clara ate actual food.

"This is the best sandwich I've ever had" Clara said. She had been deprived of food by the serpents and Damon being in the mood he was in, he didn't feed his prisoners but of course he wanted to be the one to kill them so he allowed them water.

"If you think this is good, you should try Alesandros, his food is so good. Hes not a chef but he does have his own restaurants which serve his own recipes. Nothing beats his cooking though" Callum said, he was a big fan of Alesandros food, he hadn't been round in a while and so he mentally made a note to invite himself round when everything calmed down.

"Who?" Clara asked.

Callum knew Damon didn't share his personal life so at this point he realised his mistake but it wasn't like Alesandro wasn't well known. She would link it together. "Damons father" Callum said.

Although personal life was off limits, everyone knew the family so it wasn't like he was going against Damon

There was only one person who was off limits to talk about and that was Emilia.

Alesandro and Damon made that clear when she was kidnapped. They would find her but she hadn't to be mentioned again. They didn't even want her name said around here and Callum knew it was a good decision especially now after some soldier let in a enemy.

"Im pretty sure I'll never try it, I'm banished from the country" Clara replied.

"But you survived, Damon never lets his prisoners go. He obviously likes you" Callum said quietly a small smile on his face.

Clara laughed at his statement "if holding a gun to my head and chaining me up means he likes me then I'm gonna get out of the country whilst I still can"

"I don't blame you. Best to stay on his good side"

"What about the young girl down there, will she be okay" Clara felt brave enough to ask but also she couldn't forget about her.

Just at that moment before Callum could tell her not to talk about her further, Mason walked in.

He had heard the question and despite hating the topic, he felt it best to give a simple explanation. He couldn't have her running to the cops or social services. Then they would have to bring her back and act like a big happy family.
"She's down there because she tried to kill someone "

"Ok but why not put her in prison. I heard her basically imply she was your sister. What kind of monster chains his sister up" she replied.

She didn't know what Lexi had done and perhaps that was her biggest mistake. Everyone was aware of who Lexi was and no one dared mention it not that they cared. Damon often brought his personal enemies down to the cells for fun. He found it fun to torture them. He enjoyed their screams. It had seemed like any other day but when they found out, family was off limits so no one asked.

"The type of monster who doesn't allow her to get away with attempted murder on multiple occasions"Damon snapped as he entered the room.

"The threat is gone I suggest you leave now before I change my mind "he warned.

Clara nodded quickly not wanting to end up back in a cage but at the same time it hadn't even taken them long to stop the threat.

"You sorted it out quick" she couldn't help but comment on it.

"I don't take to kindly to people who try to kill me I'm not going to give him chance to run away" Damon said, his tone was different, you could tell he was angry but his voice was cold. There was nothing there only hatred.

"I can see why someone would want to" she muttered and Callum who was next to her burst out laughing until he received a sharp look from Damon.

Damon walked forwards, Clara backwards until he had her against a wall "you are going to leave now before I decide to kill you. You speak a word to anyone and I'll get on a plane and come kill you myself. I know where you're from, I know all about the little gang you're in so don't think you can hide from me. If you even so much as tell one person I'll slaughter you and them. If you ever come back to Italy I'll know and I will not hesitate to kill you. Now leave." He threatened.

Their bodies were so close but all Clara felt was fear and when Damon finally stepped back she knew she had to leave so she practically ran out.

She had volunteered to come here, she was originally from Italy but at the same time she wanted to avoid everything back in America. Now she had to go back. The news about the serpents being taken down no doubt had spread. They would know if she left. Or maybe she could fake her death? No they would still know. They knew everything. She had to go back.
