chapter 41

Ok first I've decided Damon will go back to name calling. Like I mentioned it in the last chapter I stopped because of the shipping but i guess in lots of books they call their sister names but use Italian. Damon will be using english simply so Emilia can understand.

Also thankfully in this book I haven't seen any ship stickers between siblings or comments. So if you were one of those people last book who did this, I dont want to see any unless it's love interests e.g Damon and a girl, Dante and Sophia, Antonio and Emilia.

Dinner time

Suprisingly Damon and Mason were present and Emilia was glad.

Like always Alesandro asked everyone how their days were. And like always her brothers were blunt.

Emilia herself was usually blunt with a 'it was fine' but not today.

"How was your day bambina" Alesandro asked when she didn't respond to the question he asked the whole table.

"Yeah it was okay. Alot of homework though" she started.

"If you need help I'm always here"  Alesandro replied.

"Thank you. Its nothing I can't handle just Italian translation homework for language class, maths worksheets and an essay on the Mafia" she casually said.

Damon ended up choking on the water he was drinking "why the Mafia"  he asked. Emilia noticed this reaction.

"Well we could pick optional modules and considering my past and how Lexi was I thought criminology would be a good idea. Maybe they were abusive for a reason? Last week we learnt about twin studies although I believe it can't be done to that, Alice didn't want her growing up around violence so I feel like it was her choice and nothing to do with genetics " she couldn't help but ramble when she saw how annoyed Damon looked.

His gaze softened at her explaination though.

"So why the Mafia bambina" Alesandro asked.

"We are learning about organised crime and started with the Italian mafia" she explained noticing how they all looked at each other.

She decided to continue not even realising she was insulting Damon. But she hoped if the rumours were true they would get defensive of their boss. Or something.

"Apparently the boss is unknown but maybe no one can id him because he's extremely ugly so he hides his face"

Dante and Matteo burst out laughing but Damon shot them a look and they soon shut up.

"Maybe he's deformed" she continued.

This had Dante, Mason and Matteo laughing. Of course they weren't laughing at any type of deformaty rather that she was insulting Damon and she didn't know it.

"You know if you said anything like that on the streets it would get reported back to the boss, I'm sure he wouldn't like to be insulted, I don't think he'd be happy "
Damon said not happy with the insults.

"Bet he would be furious " Dante added trying to start some drama.

"But you will be there to protect me from him right Damon" she asked slightly nervous.

"Yes. No one will hurt you"  Damon said firmly.

Damon protecting her from the Mafia boss was an amusing thought. She trusted him to protect her from himself.

"On second thoughts, I think dad would be a better option " she added

"Of course I'd protect you" Alesandro replied. He was pleased that she thought of him as her protector just as much as Damon, he knew it was hard for her considering her last father figure.
