48. Why Don't Tell Opinion? {+Surprise}

You ask me why I don't tell my opinions to you
Suddenly, as if on queue, out of the blue
A million little flashbacks of the past blur my view
As I again see myself suffering through
The feeling of dread is fresh, after all these years too

Whenever I tried to open my mouth and tell
Regarding anything what are my views or thoughts
I was told my feelings don't matter, with a yell
Quietened down every time, suffered boycotts

Those flashbacks opened the wounds that I thought had healed
But they were as painful and fresh as new, they were just concealed
After all these years, I only managed to make them sealed
I protected them with all I got, always putting them behind a shield
Never managed to tell someone, and those old wounds were never revealed

Just buried deep in my heart
Waiting to burst out
It still affects my every part
Remembering it still makes me lose my mind and loudly, I want to shout

I was suddenly brought back to reality
Trembling as if it was zero degree
"You okay?", I hear you asking me
Trying to be brave, in your I see
I smile while crying inside and say, "It's nothing, I guarantee"
And then, being the coward I am, I turn my back on you and flee

Hey, there depressed souls! DrishKing is back with another Saturday update for you guys. This poem revolves around another issue (Duh, what did you expect?). Many people have trouble expressing their views and opinions on anything. We often overlook it and think they are just shy but their past experiences can be the reason. No matter how long ago they faced something like that, it still affects them. That's trauma. It can ease but its impact will always be there. A simple little flashback of such trauma can leave you pale and shivering with fright.

Now, I told you all that I will update you on this poem collection's published version 'Midnight Poetry: Dark Poems With Concealed Motivation'. So, here I am. I have received my author copies and I have never felt happier.
