46. Scar

Every scar tells a story
Mine spells I survived
And it might bring some glory
But I recall how painfully I revived

When I was devoid of any hope
Everyone said there was no scope
Still, I was clinging to that rope
Hanging over that steep slope
Never thought I could, but I did cope

Now all that is left is a scar
Hard to believe but the pain did ease
Now, it's just a melody on my guitar
But I still remember me defeated, on my knees

Revolving in front of my eyes is my past
Me, bowing down to my problems at last
I can still feel the heat on my skin from that blast
Sitting in the corner, hugging my knees, feeling aghast
That thunderstorm broke my hope-filled ship's mast

Every scar tells a tale
Of sorrows and bravery
Recalling that trauma turns you pale
Leaves you sobbing with your voice quavery

And mine is not any different, it sings about my pain
How I struggled and flew away, breaking that chain
It screams about my loss as well as what I did gain
It seems like that memory is burned deep into my brain
In hopes of forgetting it, drowning myself in Champaign

I can run for ages but I can't hide
These scars are a reminder
It all comes flooding like a tide
For hope to live, I never was a good finder

Don't hide your scars, they are an honor, an award
For never giving up and fighting hard, your reward
A reminder not of falling but how high and fast you soared
Through the dark sky, that courage can't be ignored
In that scar, not a reminder of trauma, but a lesson is stored

The story it screams makes you shine
As bright as a star
So, stop hiding, it really is fine
Not a curse but a batch of honor is your scar

Hey there my dear poem lovers! I am back with another Saturday poem for you guys. I am really proud of myself for this poem. It's one of the best ones I have written so far. It was depressed but motivating as well and I loved how it turned out.

I also wanna address that I didn't 'miss' the previous Saturday's update. My poems were ready but I didn't have time to publish them as my exams are there. I figured that I had published the 1K special poem just before Saturday. So, you guys would consider that as an early update. But still, really sorry for missing that update, but my exam made me do it.

I think you all might want to know that I am working on composing one of my poems into a song. It's challenging but I really am working hard on that. So, I might publish it as a song in the future somewhere. Right now, I am just trying to figure all this composing out. I will let you know once it is done.

As I was saying, I personally loved this poem and enjoyed writing it. Let me know your views on it. I would love to hear what you all have got to say about it.

Also, the numbering of my poems was somehow messed up. So, I have skipped a few numbers to fix the total serial order.

Vote if you enjoyed reading this poem. Comment your favorite part, your views, or any topic upon which you would like me to write a poem. I would be obliged to take in the request. Share the poem with someone you think needs to hear this. Poems can work magic on troubled souls. Sharing this with people you know who need help or you think might need help will be great as spreading positive thoughts or helping troubled people in some other way is my ultimate goal when I am writing a poem. You all can help me achieve it.

See you Soon!!!
