"Damn, do you hate her that much?" Chaewon giggled in between her words
Danielle chugged on her cola, frustratingly. She closed her eyes tightly, getting irritated at Chaewon for finding it funny
"I swear it was an accident, you know I wouldn't do things like that." She replied
Minji is only silent. She took her jacket off and gave it to Danielle, the latter gave her a questioning look
"What would I do with this?"
"Give it to her," said Minji
"You're kidding, why would I give her your jacket?" Danielle turned her down
Minji raised her brows, "Because you ruined hers?"
Guilt quickly enveloped Danielle's heart, so with hesitation she took it and stood up to give it to Haerin.
The door of the restroom opened and Haerin walked out without looking at anyone. She was busy folding her stained jacket, and she's now wearing a black v-neck shirt.
Danielle collected herself first, she breathe in and out but before she could even step forward and say her genuine apology to Haerin
Kai gave his hoodie to Haerin which the girl gladly accepted. Danielle's jaw clenched.
"This is stupid,"
She turned back to their table and acted like nothing happened. Minji was quiet but Danielle could tell she saw what happened, the reason why Minji is now looking at Haerin's table
"You should've moved fast," Minji smirked knowingly at her
Danielle shrugged, "I'm going home, I'm tired."
Chaewon choked on her cola when she saw someone familiar enter the resto, "I'm coming with you, let's go home together."
"What?"
Chaewon hid behind Danielle and dragged her out of there, leaving Minji alone in their table. Karina has long gone after Danielle and Winter's interaction
She shakes her head, a small smile plastered on her lips. Minji stood up and went near where Haerin and the others are.
Hyein and Hanni glanced at her, Kai was comforting Haerin who doesn't seem bothered by the incident earlier
Minji faked a cough and that's when she got Haerin's full attention.
"I'm sorry," She started
Haerin still motionless went back to eating like she didn't hear anything
Minji awkwardly grabbed her nape, "Uhm, I can pay for your jacket if you want." She offered
Haerin sighed, and the other three were just observing them
"The food's free, you don't have to pay." Minji added. She's not boasting but Hanni misinterpreted it as her arrogantly shoving her luxury in their faces
So the girl slammed the table and faced her, "Stop with your pity! We're not broke," She glared at Minji
And Minji could only chuckle at how adorable she looked. A staff quickly approached them, "Is something the matter, Ms. Kim?"
Minji and Hanni were both having a no blinking competition when Minji smiled genuinely.
"No, Haerin I'll have the same jacket delivered to you by tomorrow," Minji replied before turning to Haerin to apologize again
The staff bowed at Minji before she left. Hyein facepalmed herself and pulled Hanni who's standing firm back into their seat
"Geez, Danielle and her friends are such a pain in the ass." Hanni scowled
"The best thing to do in that situation is stay calm and don't respond, why were you popping your veins off? You're giving her the reaction she wants," said Haerin
"Are you sure we should be letting them do these things to you?" Kai asked worriedly
Haerin's brows furrowed in confusion, "What do you mean? What things?"
"The bullyings?" Hyein asked innocently
Haerin dropped her utensils, and stared at them in shock
"You guys thought I was being bullied? By them?" She asked, seemingly offended.
"Were you not?" Hanni chuckled nervously
Haerin shook her head, "I'm not getting bullied, no one's bullying me."
"Are you sure? I heard Danielle's been bullying you since third year." said Kai
"Who's spreading these rumours? I know everyone knows Mo and I hate each other and that's true but she's not bullying me," Haerin ran her fingers in her hair
"I should get home by now, let's go. Are you guys done?" She asked, changing the subject
Hanni, Hyein and Kai knowingly looked at each other before nodding in unison
"I'll pay," Kai offered, he raised his hand and a staff approached their table
"Yes, sir? Want a takeout?"
Kai's face flushed, "Oh, no. We would like to pay for the meal. Where's the bill?"
"Oh, you don't have to Ms. Kim said it's okay, please come by anytime." The boy smiled and bowed before walking away
The four of them were stunned.
"Did she pay for our meals and those huge burgers we just ate?" Hyein's eyes were as wide as an ocean
Hanni shakes her head while looking at a frame in the wall of the restaurant, "No, I think she's the owner here." She pointed at something
The others looked and their jaws dropped at the photo frame pinned on the wall.
"I wouldn't want her as my enemy," Hyein commented
"Neither do I," said Kai
Haerin glanced at Hanni who seemed deep in thought then to her jacket that's stained with cola
Her phone beeped in her pocket, she slowly took it and read the message sent by an unknown number
i'm sorry for what happened earlier, i won't bother you... just until finals week.
