Kratos wakes up from his slumber due to another nightmare from his past until a hand caresses his cheek

Faye: kratos, you alright?

Kratos nods as the baby Atreus in Faye's arms begins to whine as Faye rocks him to calm him down, kratos looks to his two year old son sleeping on the ground, he picks him up and Carrie's him in his arms the husband and wife Carrie they're children to there nearby boat to return home

Faye: we'll, you're father and youre big brother seems very ready to go, shall we then?

Faye says to the small child in her arms

Faye: this way grumbles

Kratos guides his wife onto the boat still carrying his son in one hand as he sits down on the boat lying his son on his lap grabbing an Ore to rowe the boat, kratos begins to rowe the boat back home

Faye: do you enjoy the gentle waves little one?, your father and your brother and I traverse this river often, one day you will learn to navigate it's waters

Faye says to her bundled up son

Faye: we live deep in the wildwoods, the most beautiful forest in all of Midgard, it is safe and serene here, game is plentiful, and you will want for nothing, and you will love you're big brother you'll at least have some one to accompany you for when we're absent

Kratos looks down at his sleeping son as he continues rowing

Faye: we're not far from the place your father and I first met, we nearly took each other's heads off, but he's softened since then somewhat when you're brother was born, unfortunately for you he remains dreadfully stoic.

Kratos only grunts from the sentence after as he sets the ore down to let the boat flow through the waters, Leonidas begins to drift in his sleep snuggling into his father's lap in a more comfortable position

Faye: he's so sleepy

Kratos: yes

Kratos simply says as Faye adjusts her grasp on Atreus in her arms

Faye: I suppose it will fall to me to teach you language, your father can teach you boys to hunt, or perhaps that will fall to me as well since all he seems to be good for is grunting.

Kratos simply grunts as he looks away, it was silent for a minute until Faye breaks the silence.

Faye: have you nothing to say to your son's?

Kratos: what would you have me say Faye?

Faye: anything, let them learn your voice, let them know you

Kratos: they are far better off knowing as little as possible

Faye only smirks a bit at her husband

Faye: knowledge is not always a burden, to think the mighty god of war, frightened of his own children.

Kratos: I do not fear our children Faye, I fear for them.

Kratos says as he places a hand on Leonidas's shoulder

Kratos: they are innocent

Faye only frowns at her husband's words until she speaks again

Faye: we are not our failure's, we are not who we were, we must be better

Kratos said nothing at his beloveds words

Faye: Atreus and Leonidas is our future, keep them safe kratos, promise me you will

Kratos looked at his son in his lap as he turned his gaze to atreus, until a flame englufed inside kratos a new meaning, be better for his family, kratos catches his wife's gaze creating a sentence with determination

Kratos: I promise
