Eight years later we see Leonidas and his little brother Atreus playing with carved toys outside in the woods
Atreus: "that dumb hammer doesn't scare me"
Says Atreus as he slams the toy against the floor facing the other toy in Leonidas hand
Leonidas: "you will regret those words fool"
The two then go at it with the carved pieces of wood until kratos calls for the boys
Kratos: boys!
The boys cease their play time to head inside to see kratos and Faye standing near the entrance
Kratos: Leonidas that blade, it belongs to you now
Leonidas looks at the sword next to the door of the entrance, he goes to grab it
Leonidas: but what for?
Faye: we've decided it's time for your first test, remember how I taught you to hunt?
Leonidas: yes mother
Kratos: then show me what you know because I will join you, fore we are hungry, feed us
Kratos tosses a bow to Leonidas and catches it
Leonidas: yes sir
Atreus: mother when will it be my turn to hunt for us?
Faye: your time will soon come little one
Leonidas: don't worry atreus I'm gonna come back with a big feast for all of us
Atreus smiles at his elder brother, kratos and Leonidas step out of the house into the snowy woods
Leonidas: what are we hunting?
Kratos: you are hunting deer
Leonidas: which way?
Kratos: your hunt, you tell me
Leonidas: south?
Kratos: is that a question?
Leonidas: south, we go south
The duo then head off deep into the woods in search of game until Leonidas spots tracks in the snow
Leonidas: look father, tracks they're still fresh this way
Leonidas leads his father down the path that leads to their prey, until Leonidas halts when a deer steps in front of him and runs off, Leonidas begins chasing it
Leonidas: found it
Kratos: slow down boy
Leonidas: sorry
Kratos: you are hunting deer not chasing it
Leonidas: yes father
The father and son continue on the hunt until they spot the deer again
Leonidas: I found it
Kratos: hold
Leonidas ignores his fathers command and fires the bow anyway missing completely scaring the deer off, Leonidas angrily kicks the dirt, as his father stomps to his son snatching the bow out of his hands
Kratos: what are you doing?!, now it's guard is up, only fire-
Kratos stops and takes a deep breath to calm him self down
Kratos: only fire when I tell you to fire
Leonidas: I'm sorry father, I thought I would be able to hit it
