A year has passed, and Leonidasa's parents have passed on, he stood gazing at the tree staring at the hand prints of yellow and red, he kneels down tenderly brushing the bark on the tree with his palm,
as he lays his head on the bark he let's out a sniffel as he finally stands up straight and raises the leviathan axe up high, as he swings the axe at tree, again and again the axe cut deeper as Leonidas let's out a loud cry swinging one more time causing the tree to topple over, Leonidas looks at the axe in his hand in remembrance of his loved ones, until his little brother Atreus approaches him holding a plant
Atreus: found some
Leonidas: good find buddy
Atreus nods as he looks at the tree looking a bit depressed
Leonidas: you ready to go?
Atreus only nods as he makes his way back to the boat
Leonidas let's out a sad sigh as he lifts up the tree as if it weighed nothing, he then makes his way back to the boat, he sets the tree down next to the boat grabbing a rope passing it to Atreus, Leonidas the sticks a hook into the tree pushing it into the river, Atreus finishes tying tree to the boat as Leonidas enters the boat grabbing an ore rowing down the river back to their home,
Atreus: Leo?
Leonidas: yes
Atreus: did something change, the forest feels different now
Leonidas: like what kind of different?
Atreus: like somethings missing different
Leonidas: well everything is different bud, let's not worry about it right now
Atreus: okay
Leonidas then sets the boat next to the dock on their passage way home, atreus goes to untie the rope from the boat, as Leonidas grabs the rope pulling it out of the river Leonidas then unhooks it picking it up once more,
the duo then make they're way up to they're home, when they arrive Leonidas sets the tree down next to some stones with more handprints on them pulling out his axe frome his back
Leonidas: that was all of them
Leonidas says as he begins chopping on the tree preparing the pyre, Atreus then runs back to the house slowly opening the door, he stares at the two rapped up bodies on the table, as he grabs a nearby candle he approaches them setting the plants he found on top of them
Atreus: Lo there do I see my mother, Lo there do I see my father, Lo there do they call to me
Atreus then gently sets his hands on both bodies repeating his words
Atreus: Lo there do they call to me, Lo there do they call to me, Lo there do they call to me
As Atreus turns around he spots Leonidas standing in the doorway, he walks towards his brother as he joins him, Atreus wipes his tears as he speaks once more
Atreus: they're ready
Leonidas nods as Atreus exits the house, Leonidas approaches the body's as he carries them both
Leonidas: we will put you both at rest
Leonidas then picks up the body's as he exits the house setting the two body's on the pyre, his palm starts to heat up as he sets the pyre on fire slowly cremating the body's,
there was a moment of silence as Atreus notices a knife on his mother's body and quickly grabs it, but drops it as it burns his hand he then looks up at his brother
Atreus: I'm sorry
Leonidas: let me see you're hand
Atreus reaches his hand out too his brother, as Leonidas raises his palm too, he hovers his palm over his little brothers hand, as water forms and wraps itself around Atreus's palm, it then freezes into a frozen bandage on Atreus's hand
Leonidas picks up the knife from the floor, then handing it to Atreus
Leonidas: this knife was mom's, she wanted you to have when you were ready
Atreus grabs it as Leonidas stands up
Leonidas: go grab you're bow, there's somewhere I wanna take you
Atreus: now?
Leonidas: now
Atreus heads inside to grab his bow, while Leonidas grabs two bags one of brown and gold and the other of white and red, Leonidas then gathers the ashes and puts them in the bags, he looks down at them and deeply sighs, once he sets the bags on his belt Atreus walks out with said bow and arrows,
Atreus: where are we going
Leonidas: you'll see
The two then head off into the woods into a passage way after some time walking they enter the old arena Leonidas and kratos used to train at
Atreus: what are we doing here?
Leonidas: to get you prepped up for the journey bud
Atreus: then we leave for the mountain?
Leonidas: soon, but right now I gotta whip you into shape so let's get started
____________________________________After months of training Atreus has learned to fight well on his own and can even hold his own we'll against Leonidas, but today was the day Atreus would face his final test,
The two brothers were walking out into the woods, they soon approach a gate, Leonidas prepares to open it but before he could he faces his brother
Leonidas: you ready?
Atreus: always ready
Leonidas smiles at his brothers response as he opens the gate to reveal a troll in an arena, the two brothers slowly approach the beast
Atreus: were gonna fight that!?
Leonidas: if you wanna pass yeah
The two then gets into a fighting stance, as Leonidas shouts getting the trolls attention
The troll notices the two as he picks up his giant stone pillar and roars at the young men
Leonidas summons his wings and goes air born, pulling out his axe and throwing it at the beast stunning it
Atreus takes the opportunity to shoot it in the eyes as it stumbles back
Leonidas recalls his axe and lands on the ground swinging at it's leg causing it to topple over
Atreus then runs over to his brother as he lifts him up into the air leading up to Atreus shooting three more arrows at the beast
Leonidas then heats up his fist as he jumps up into the air slamming his fist into the beast breaking his ribcage, the beast let's out a scream of pain as it coughs up blood
Atreus takes the opportunity to stab the troll in the eye killing it finally, atreus pulls out the knife as he catches his breath, he then feels a hand on his shoulder looking up to see his brother smiling at him
Atreus: we did it
Leonidas: no, you did it buddy
Leonidas then fist bumps his little brother as they make they're way back home
Atreus: so what now
Leonidas: now, our journey begins, you ready?
Atreus: let's do it
The two then collect they're gear as they head out to start they're long journey ahead
