Leonidas kratos and Faye we're out in the woods, kratos holding two buckets filled with yellow and red paint, as Leonidas looked as if his eyes were watering, but Faye places a hand on Leonidasa's shoulder and speaks in a soft voice,
Faye: death is a natural part of life love, I wish only to be prepared for when me and your father's time comes,
Leonidas: but am I prepared, to raise Atreus on my own
Kratos: son, you've shown me you are capable of many things, looking after your brother is one of them
Leonidas nods as he sticks both hands in the buckets, and connects with his mother and father's palms, they then both place there hands on a tree leaving a red and yellow hand print on the wood
Faye: we mortals must do such things leo, I am glad to have you prepare with us,
Faye says in a gentle voice as she begins to sniffle a little, they walk deeper into the woods as Faye speaks to her husband
Faye: you are quiet
Kratos: I have nothing to say
Faye: we'll... Say something. We enjoy hearing your voice
Kratos: the funeral pyre. I would have chosen different
Faye: oh
Leonidas sticks his hands into the buckets once again, as he paints both his parents hands with the colors, as they place another hand print on another tree
Kratos: in my land, we entomb our loved ones.
Faye: you would wanna be trapped, in the ground for eternity
Kratos: only if you were close to me
Faye: how touching, two rotting corpses bringing eachother comfort
Leonidas: gross...
Leonidas once again repeats his actions as they place another hand print on another tree, the family then approach one final tree, as Faye gets down on her knees as the two men do the same, Leonidas once again paints his mother and father's palms,
Leonidas: I just... Can't imagine the time when you both go, it's just too much to think of a future without you both
Faye: you can make a better future, that exists without us, whenever that day comes, for you and for Atreus
The husband and wife once again leave a hand print on the tree, as Leonidas let's out a saddened sigh looking down, Faye noticing places a hand on her son's shoulder
Faye: we will always, walk toghter Leonidas, you will always be a part of us, we will always be a part of you
Leonidas: but when your both gone, that part of me dies too, mother father, to feel your absence
Faye: culmination of love is grief my son, and yet we love despite the inevitable, we open our hearts to it
Leonidas only looks at his mother with nothing to say, she then stands up
Faye: when the pyre is spent and you've gathered our ashes, spread them from the highest peak in all the realms, you must do this for us
Faye stretches her arms towards Leonidas, as Leonidas makes contact and there elbows though,
Faye: to grieve deeply, is to have loved fully, open your heart to the world and you will find every reason to keep living it
After Faye's words, both Leonidas and Faye foreheads make contact with eachother

Leonidas: father, when I start training Atreus, what if I mess up, what if I've drive him to fight as an indulgence, like how you never wanted for me
Kratos: my son, we do not fight because the world makes us fight, we fight for a greater purpose, on your journey you will forge into the unknown, to fulfill the promise you made, and when you've prepared Atreus, no matter the darkness, nothing will stand in your way
Leonidas nods as he hugs his father, and then they both head home,
