WHEN THE GROUP awoke from their restful sleep, they pulled on their shoes and left the large house.
AJ rushed after Noah, the two going one way together. Mimi, Ellie, and Carl going another with Judith in a stroller.
Daryl had refused to leave the house, much to Ellie's dismay. She wants her father to embrace this place, at least try to, but she knew him. She knew how much change affected him.
As the three teens walked down a street, an older couple waved them over, smiling and gushing over the baby.
"Oh, what a pretty little thing!" Natalie Miller, the older woman, waved her fingers in Judith's face, causing her to laugh.
"We had our fair share of babies in our life." Bob, her husband chuckled. "If you ever need us to watch her, we will."
"Thank you, sir. We appreciate that." Ellie brushed the baby's hair down as Mimi smiled from behind her.
"Are you the mother? You look very young." Natalie glanced between Ellie and Carl. Both kids eyes widened in shock.
"Oh, no, no, no." Ellie chuckled nervously. "Carl's her brother. I'm just a friend, so is Mimi."
The Espinosa girl nodded, trying her best to hide her laughter. Rick walked over then, distracting the older couple from the kids.
"Hi there. I'm Rick." He climbed up the stairs and took his daughter into his arms. "I'll take over here, Ron wants to meet you guys." The leader glanced over at Jessie who stood waiting for them.
The teens nodded at him, waving goodbyes to the couple before rushing down the stairs.
Mimi immediately snorted a laugh. "Oh, God. You should've seen your faces! That was so funny."
"Hey, I don't want to hear it." Ellie laughed, pointing her finger at the girl. "You're the one who tripped over her feet because of that girl."
"Girl? What girl?" Carl glanced between them suspiciously.
"Mimi has a little crush on this girl she saw. Enid." Ellie disclosed quietly. "Hey, maybe she'll be at Ron's house."
"We're almost always here after school, so you can come by any time." Ron told them as they walked up the stairs.
"You have school?" Mimi asked, slightly surprised.
