CHAPTER ONE

The girl's name was Komi, you weren't quite sure of her surname however. It seemed as if the poor girl had an unusual ability to attract devastating magnitudes of attention; something people wouldn't often realize is truly a burden. She held such ethereal beauty, almost making you believe that rather than being sent as an angel to watch over everyone; she was a devil in disguise, sent to wreak havoc and prey on the souls of the innocent.

Well, that would be your brother's opinion if he were still in school.

You weren't someone who actively seeked attention and popularity, instead you aimed to get the rest of your school years over and done with; all you wanted was an eternity of time to sleep. In a way, you pitied the ravishing beauty named Komi, you'd been in a similar position to her in your junior high; it was annoying.

Appearances weren't everything, yet people judged others upon first sight. You knew this very well from experience. You had decent looks, your nearly constant half lidded eyes, indicating sleepiness, was something other students found to be attractive; luckily in this new school, Komi outshined you by bounds, so the brunt of the attention was thrown off of you.

You were truly thankful, however that didn't quite extinguish your hatred for speaking with others unless necessary. You weren't scared, you weren't nervous; people were just ignorant and stupid. You sighed, resting your chin in your hand as you dozed off, uncaring of all the muttering and stares thrown at the girl who sat a few rows behind you.

The teacher harshly slammed a thick book onto her teacher's pedestal, "Introduce yourselves." she'd curtly demanded. Up first was a green haired girl, she adorned big round glasses and a wild blush of embarrassment; how endearing, you'd call her Midori until you could figure out how to translate her gibberish attempts of speaking.

It seemed the female behind her was able to differentiate Modori's words, "Agari, you're way too nervous right now." the girl chortled. Your eyes narrowed, if you were good at anything other than sleeping, it was guessing a person's true nature. The girl seemed too brash, putting up an innocent schoolgirl facade; however, more importantly, Midori's name was actually Agari and you didn't want to acknowledge that.

Although everyone let out supposed light hearted laughs and comments on Agari's introduction, you could tell that the atmosphere was painfully tese, yet you couldn't fathom why.

"Next."

As cued, Komi stood, her hands daintily placed in front of her. Everyone leaned in her direction, anticipation filling the space. Keenly observing the girl from over your shoulder, her purple tinted optics met yours before flitting away in an instant.

Oh.

You understood now; Komi had social anxiety. Humming, you decided to make it slightly easier for her and veer your gaze away from her, lessening the prying eyes that stabbed her figure. The class remained dead silent as she remained standing, peering at the back of your head in confusion.
