UNSOLVED

Sadie Pearl Sherwood is an American child who disappeared from Marshfield, Wisconsin in 2011 while playing with her older brother.

Sadie was born on July 29th, 2004. She was the youngest of eight children and the only daughter. Her early years were uneventful.

On November 24th, 2011, Sadie, age seven, was playing hide and seek with her eleven year old brother, David, when she seemingly vanished into thin air. David went to his parents, Pearl and Angelo Sherwood, and told them that he couldn't find Sadie and that she wasn't responding to him. Immediately, they reported her missing to the police. The next day, they received a ransom note telling them to meet them at an address in Madison, Wisconsin at 6:00am on November 27th, 2011. The note reads:

Sherwood family,

I have your daughter. I know you want her back. Why wouldn't you? We can discuss negotiations for her if you met me at this address at exactly 6:00am on November 27th. We'll see what happens then.

When they showed up exactly when they were told too, they found no one. No Sadie, no anonymous kidnapper.

So they went home and tried to continue on with their lives. About two years later, police received a report from a man named James Johnson. He had lived next door to the Sherwoods prior to Sadie's disappearance but had moved to Detroit just a month after Sadie disappeared. He was in London, visiting his daughters, when he claims he saw Sadie in a grocery store with a tall white man with brown hair.

He didn't approach Sadie or the man because when he saw them they were leaving.

But this lead to nothing. Another year later, they received a report from a Filipino scientist, Lucy Reyes. Lucy was in Manila, as she was on vacation with her husband and children, and she claims she saw Sadie at the beach. She assumed her to be any other child. According to Reyes, she had been splashing around in the water, seemingly having fun while a tall white man with brown hair watched her. The pair left before Reyes and her family.

She didn't recognize Sadie at first but later that night, she saw a segment talking about Sadie and was certain that that was her. And that was the last report of Sadie being seen.

Today, Sadie would be eighteen going on nineteen. Sadie's family continues to look for her. And, Sadie, if by some miracle you are reading this and you are free, your family misses you. They just want you home.
