Sonic and The Kids Next Door

In The Air

The two heroes had taken off heading their way towards the teen ninjas hideout in order to collect the primary sphere and a note that'll help them find the secondary sphere all so they can use them to defeat Numbuh 1000

The ship was in  the air as Numbuh 1 was piloting it the best he can lamenting that it was't the same without Numbuh 2 who was indeed a better pilot then he was in terms of flying a kids next door flying machine

Meanwhile  nearby Sonic was relaxing and tapping his foot both impatient and annoyed as he was so used to being on top of ships to enjoy the breeze of the fresh air as they pass through it, now he was force to be the weapon user on the ship till they land near the teen hideout

Sonic: "so how muh farther to the hideout we been up here for like forever"

Numbuh 1: "uh we been flying for only a few minutes"

Sonic: "well Sir Knight should've told us how fast this goes i'm getting bored over here"

Numbuh 1: "didn't you have to ride on a plane before?"remembering how during their runs Sonic blab about some of his adventures in the past

Sonic: "yeah but we were close to our target more often and their was something to do like shooting down bad guys" On cue an alarm was use causing the two to realize they have company "okay i take that back shooting bad guys down is annoying"

Numbuh 1: "quick check the radar to see whats coming"

Sonic nodded as their was only two of them on the ship Sonic had to monitor the weapons and radar by himself to which would be impossible if it weren't for his speed, he took a good look at the radar and saw red dots coming from the right

Sonic: "enemies on the right i'll shoot you steer we can land once we are out of danger"

Numbuh 1: "alright kids next door battle stations!!"

Sonic got to the weapon system and saw the flying robots heading towards them, targeting them Sonic begin firing and destroying each robot he encounter on screen to the right, after destroying them he check the radar to see more on the left

Sonic: "the sooner we have your team back then the better this job will be" Numbuh 1 sigh sadly nodding as he still misses he teammates and friends

Sonic sigh a bit hoping things will be better for Numbuh 1 as he went back to his job, he begin firing another weapon attack on the left side destroying those robots in the progress

This went on back and forth with Numbuh 1 having to use evading skills to dodge some of the robots attacks in case Sonic couldn't destroy them in time as they begin attacking from all directions

Trouble did come as the weapons begin overheating forcing Sonic to stop firing them for awhile till they cool off forcing Numbuh 1 to do some evading for a bit much to his frustration, lucky Sonic found some extra Weapon after a few minutes which only anger Numbuh 1 over that being kept from them 

Numbuh 1: "That Sir Knight has got to stop keeping stuff from us as this is getting insane!!"

Eventually they were down to the last wave as Numbuh 1 had began pulling upward to avoid any ambush attempts from above the clouds from earlier, with their best efforts they finally stop the robot evasion entirely at least for now 

Sonic: "phew thats the last of them apparently they must've either retreated or that was all their was to it, hopefully we don't have to do that again"

Numbuh 1: "don't be so sure Sonic nothing is ever the last time in our case" he notice a signal check nearby "oh good we are here alright i'm gonna land this far away a bit to keep the teens from noticing our presense"

Sonic: "good idea i swear we can't keep taking any surprises Numbuh 1 i mean i love adventuring an all but i really wish to take some well earn break"

Numbuh 1: "well as a kids next door operative whos loves his job i say you'll be taking your break alone afterwards"

Sonic roll his eyes over how Numbuh 1 is apparently married to his own job kinda reminds him of certain people he met and knows that are very loyal to their own jobs like Knuckles

Eventually Numbuh 1 had landed the ship somewhere from the distance of the teen hideout at a mart, opening the ship door Numbuh 1 and Sonic check their surrondings hoping the close was clear

At first it seem to be the case as they don't see a robot, brainwash operative, or even a teen anywhere so they feel safe for now

However no sooner do the two tried to rest up a bit they nearly got burnt by a flamethrower attack by a unknown attacker, quickly they got prepare as the Vector Bot appear before them looking very pissed.
