Sons of Garmadon: Chapter 9 - Big Trouble, Little Ninjago

"Are you sure she can help us?" Katarina asks Nya.

"That's what Misako said. If there's anything that can help Lloyd right now, it's here." Nya explains to her.

Katarina picks up Lloyd from the cot in the medical bay. "I hope she's right. For Lloyd's sake."

The Ninja got off the Bounty and hurriedly ran to the tea shop. "Is Mystake here?" Cole asks in the emptiness of the shop as the Ninja walked in. Mystake parted the beads as she walked out of the room she was just in.

"Never heard of her-'' But she stops talking when she sees an unconscious Lloyd in Katarina's arms. The Ninja gave her worried and concerned looks. Mystake's parts the beads again. "Get in, quickly. I'm going to make a tea to help him."

The Ninja rush inside the room. Zane clears the stuff off the table and Katarina sets Lloyd on it. A few moments later, he began hyperventilating and muttering in his unconscious state. "Oh. I c—There's—He's too-He's too much. I can't—please."

Jay feels Lloyd's forehead. "Hurry. He's burning up."

"You cannot hurry tea. Only have patience to get it right." Mystake says from the front of the shop." A moment later, she comes in with a cup of tea. The concerned Ninja glances at her expectantly. "It is ready."

Cole glances at the cup of tea Mystake brewed. "Is it going to make him better?"

"It will heal his wounds, but..." Her voice trails off. She looks around at the Ninja.

"But what?" Nya asks.

Kai groans. "There's always a 'but.'"

"It comes with a price."

"Whatever it is, we will pay it." Zane states with determination.

Mystake shakes her head. "I will take no coin for this. I speak of a price for you and your friend. Each of you must lay your hand upon him. The tea will focus your Elemental Powers to save him. But it may use up all the power you have left." She explains.

The room fell silent. The Ninja glance at one another.

"Are you telling me to save him, we could lose our power?" Jay asks quietly.

Mystake shrugs. "Perhaps. Perhaps not."

Lloyd whimpers and groans in pain. Everyone's brows etched with worry for their friend.

"Do it." Nya says firmly.

Kai gives her a look of surprise. "Wait! You don't just jump into decisions like this. I mean—"

"You're just worried about yourself." Cole says to Kai.

"Maybe I am. But you saw how powerful Lord Garmadon was. Without our Elemental Powers, what chance do we have?"

"I promised my father I'll take care of Lloyd and protect him. If it means giving up my Elemental power to save him, so be it." Katarina says, putting a hand on her brother's body.

"The decision needs to be unanimous. I will give up my power to save Lloyd."

Jay nods. "Me too."

Everyone else but Kai follows suit. "It's not even a choice." They all turn their heads to Kai, who hesitantly walks over to Lloyd and puts his hand on Lloyd's body. Mystake smiles and nods at Kai's decision.

At Mystake's signal, Jay and Katarina lift Lloyd's head up. Lloyd weakly opens his mouth as Mystake gives him all of the tea in the cup, and swallows it. Katarina and Jay lay his head back down on the pillow.

One by one, the Ninja give him their Elemental powers, watching their powers course throughout Lloyd's body.

Not even a second had passed that he began yelling in pain and agony, arching his back in response to the pain. He opened his eyes, which were now glowing a bright green.
