Vanya was scrolling on her phone when the door chimed and a man in a white shirt and fitted black pants walked in. Kahn was removing his sunglasses and brushing his hair back.
KAHN Hi! Sorry medyo late . . .
His voice trailed off when he immediately recognized who was sitting at the table. They were both startled, but Vanya immediately caught up. She smiled at him, standing up and holding out a hand.
VANYA Long time!
Kahn accepted her hand.
KAHN Oo nga? Long time . . .
VANYA Have a seat na. Excited na rin ako tikman yung cakes lalo na 'tong ube flavor.
KAHN Ah . . .
Kahn nodded in confusion. The baker handed them a small fork and saucer. She was trying to explain some flavors and Vanya was listening closely. But Kahn can't seem to concentrate with what's suddenly happening.
VANYA Kahn?
KAHN H-ha?
VANYA I said tikman mo 'tong coffee cake. Masarap siya. Not that sweet and sakto lang din 'yong bitterness.
KAHN Okay.
He did as he was told.
VANYA Masarap 'no?
KAHN Oo. Masarap naman.
VANYA What do you want next? Gusto kong ihuli 'yong ube. Do you want this strawberry or vanilla?
KAHN Strawberry.
VANYA Hmm?
KAHN Itong strawberry kako. Kasi 'di ba favorite mo 'yan?
