Cole groans, rolling into Freya's shoulder. "I hate all of them," he grumbles.

Freya giggles, "At least Jessie is trying to get them off our backs"

"They're relentless," Cole replies. 

"We could just tell them," Freya reminds him, which prompts an incredulous scoff from Cole.

He's quick to shake his head. "Absolutely not—are you insane?"

Freya opens her mouth to respond, but before she can, there's a knock at the door. Immediately, Cole sees her eyes widen with fear. It's the first time anyone has shown up at the new apartment—no one but Nick and the girls even know where it is. Freya checks her phone, and Cole does the same as he climbs to his feet.

"Stay here," he tells her, slipping on a t-shirt. "It's okay."

She nods, though it doesn't seem like he believes her. Admittedly, Cole can't help but feel a little tightness in his chest as he approaches the door. He leans forward to peer through the peephole, surprised to find that the hallway appears empty.
