"Beeeep!" my alarm yelled in my ear. I gather myself and groan as I roll to turn it off and realize that today was the last day of school before Christmas break. I put my legs on the side of my messy bed. I finally decided to start my descent to the living room. I climb down the latter connecting my attic room and the hallway. I head for the stairs. I walk to the kitchen aisle like a zombie and take my not assigned assigned seat. My mom was putting pancakes on the plates on the island.
She notices me.
"Morning hun!"
she said enthusiastically while plopping a pancake on my plate.
"Morning mom."
I grumble.
She laughs
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed."
Just as she says that my dad comes marching down the stairs.
"Let me guess he's running late." I say in my head
He finally makes it to the kitchen and is looking for something.
"Morning dear!" Mom says giving him a kiss
"Morning, uh hey hun have you-"
My mom cut him off by pulling a briefcase from behind her
"Yes, I have seen your briefcase."
He smiles at her and takes it from her.
"I just love you Lorraine." he says as they kiss right in front of me
I finish my pancakes and decide to get ready for school. Passing my little sister on the stairs.

I finish brushing my teeth, taking a shower, and putting my uniform on. I walk downstairs and grab my backpack. I wave goodbye to my family and head out. I grab my skateboard from the garage and start to head to school.

I put my headphones on and listen to music. I listen to the best old school rock music. The school isn't too far from my house so I can relax for a bit.

I made it to the school and I grabbed my skateboard and put my headphones in my jacket pocket. I walk into the school, groups of friends passing beside me gossiping about whatever people gossip about. Sometimes they would bump into me, I'm used to it though. I opened my locker and put my skateboard in there. Within a moment's notice it slammed shut.
"HEY!" I say
A familiar face is grinning ear to ear at me.
"Oh, sorry Ray. I thought you were a random person."
I say as I open back my locker and grab my books.
"Its' cool, Did you see they are making a new superhero game?"
"Yes! I preordered it already."
"Lucky! I can't yet."
I close my locker and we walk to our first period classes.
.
.
School is so boring I don't have half of my classes with any of my friends, not even lunch.
The final bell rings and everyone starts to leave school. As my friends and I met my street we waved goodbye and headed home going our separate ways.
.
I walk into my house, "Welcome back hunny! How was school?" My mom says from the living room.
"Good, boring."
I climb my ladder to head to room
I plop onto my bed unlocking my phone to play games.
.
.
Time passed and it was 10pm now, I yawn realizing I missed dinner. I change out of my uniform and into my comfy christmas pajamas.
I set my phone onto its charger and fell asleep.
I sink into a breath-taking dreamland. I open my eyes as I look around. This place looks so real. The sunset had an ombre of pink, orange, and yellow. It smells like a warm vanilla candle. I looked around more and noticed a woman staring at me. Her face was soft, and shaped like a heart. She looked around my age.
She had long jet black hair that reflected the sun perfectly. She was wearing a black turtleneck with the sleeves cut off, she had jeans on but they were cut at the knee and you could tell they have been worn a lot, and she had bandages on her arms.
She noticed that I had spotted her.
"Hi stranger!" she says to me
"Woah."
She giggles and you could tell her face had gone red.
"I take it that you're not from here."
"Yeah I'm from New York," I paused to see if she understood me.
Her expression changed to confusion as the sense took over her face.
"You know the city that never sleeps?"
She now looked even more confused. "How does a city sleep?"
"Not like that, it's a uhm metaphor."
"Oh that's kind of stupid."
"Yeah."
"What's your name stranger?"
"Nixon, Nixon Moon, what about you?"
"Bekna, Bekna Caal."
"I'm surprised I haven't woken up from this dream yet," I laugh
"Dream? You're not in a dream silly," she says as she giggles at me
"What?" I say, bewildered
"Yeah you fell through some weird portal and landed here"
"Wait, I'm not dreaming anymore?"
