ELARA KNEW TODAY WASN'T going to be a good day. The moment she woke up, she could feel it. Today is going to be a very, very bad day. Not because of some tragedy but just emotionally.

She walked out of the bathroom and grabbed her jacket that was laying on the bed. Klaus looked up from the ground where he was playing with Hope. "Where are you going?"

Elara shrugged and pulled her hair out from under her clothes. "I'll be back," she leaned down to kiss her daughter's head before she left the bedroom and walked out of the compound.

She needed a temporary out. Even if all she got was a little walk, she was taking it.

Elara stopped at Hayley's to bring her sister out of hiding. "Elara, what are you doing here?" Jackson asked. She smiled and he let her come inside. "Where's my sister?"

"Right here. What's wrong?" Hayley came down the steps.

Elara just shook her head, "can we go somewhere? Too many ears," she said. Hayley looked across at the open window that pointed directly into the Mikaelson home. "Um, yeah, let's go. Jackson don't let.."

"Klaus in, I got it," he nodded and held the door open for the two women.

The sisters took off into the street of New Orleans. Elara didn't know to explain to Hayley the problems going on in the compound without putting her at risk, too. But she could explain the other stuff.

"They're different. These people...they...they've got them scared."

"They've been scared before," Hayley said, hinting at Dahlia.

Elara shook her head, "this is different. Dahlia was about Hope, but this is about them. Hope can walk away from this they can't. Not all at once. And Nik..."

"Here we go," Hayley turned to her sister. She knew that this would all lead back to the hybrid she still despised. "What did he do?"

"There's this girl, she's ancient, and-,"

"And Klaus is back to his playboy ways," Hayley finished.

Elara didn't want to say it out loud, but yes, he is. He was so easily subjected and she understood why. He loved her, he really loved her. If it weren't for Elijah Aurora would be the one he was with right now and not her.

Klaus was forced to settle.

Maybe if she gave it time and let it ware out then he'd be back to how he was a week ago. Everything would go back to normal.

"It's not his fault, I mean, I get it," she nodded.

Hayley paused to look at her sister. She hated that Klaus was doing this. Elara had been through a lot because of the Mikaelson tied to her name, the least he could do is make it all worth it.
