It was only 5 am and I was already awake.

I took a quick shower and put my hair in a towel.

I quickly changed in some comfortable clothes, what existed of a black sweat pants I stole from my mom and a large white shirt I stole from my dad, and the cute cosy socks, which were actually Bella's, but I wear these so often I see them as my own now.

I opened the door and almost forgot my keys.

Then I headed downstairs.

When Hayley and I yesterday went through the building, we skipped this side of it.

She said it was Simons and we were not allowed to go in there.

She told me people only got there when they were really good friends or were in a lot of trouble.

But it was just 5.20am.

Nobody was here.

I quickly got inside and looked behind me.

Nobody.

I walked a little further to get a good look of the room.

It was really big.

Then I heard a few voices.

I recognized them, so I walked a bit further trying to get a look at the table behind the wall.

As soft as I could I tried to look at the people.

What the fuck?

Why were mom and dad here talking with Simon.

I took another look and accidentally met Simons eyes.

I quickly got back behind the wall, but knew it was too late.

How stupid.

'Laura?'

I swallowed and walked over to the table.

'Hey', I said, a bit awkwardly, a bit ashamed.

'Laura?! What are you doing here? It's five o'clock in the morning!' My mom said, or yelled. A little in between.

'It's five twenty, but whatever. What are you guys doing?'

I tried to get a look from what they were doing.

'Just something for the show, sweetheart. Nothing special.' Dad said.

'Really? Then why are you here? You're not at the panel.'

'Just helping your mom, Lau. Go back to bed. You'll get tired.'

'Why are you lying to me?'

'Sweetie, we'll tell you, okay? Just not now.' My mom came to me and grabbed both of my shoulders. 'It's nothing to worry about, just go back to bed and try to get some sleep.'

I nodded and before I could leave she grabbed me and covered my face with kisses.

'Mom! Stop! Geeze! I'm already going!!'

She giggled. 'That's what you get when you don't listen to what you were told. No entrance until you're asked to come here.'

I smiled at her. 'I love you, mommy'

'Yeah, now get back upstairs before they'll be looking for you.'

I quickly got back upstairs and went to my room.

Before I got inside, Hayley and Sam walked over to me.

'Where have you been?!' Hayley said.

'Just... Uh... Hung around.'

'At half past five in the morning?'

'Yes?'

'Whatever. Just tell me where you were. I won't tell anyone.'

'Yeah, too late for that now. I was in Simons office. You know what I found there?'

'Wait! What? You were in Simons office?! I told you..'

'My mom and dad were there, talking with Simon.'

They both looked at me. 'What were they saying?' Hayley asked.

'They saw me before I could hear it.'

'Geeze, girl. You got in trouble?'

'Nah, not really. My mom did kiss my whole face, what wasn't really appreciated, but.. They promised me they'll talk to me about it later.'

I heard Sam giggling.

'What's so funny?'

'No, nothing. I just seriously see Demi do it.'

I sighed. 'Yes, she's really weird.'

'Well, now we both know where you get that from!' Hayley said while she opened the door.

'Hey, I'm not that bad!'

'Oh hush it, lady. And yes you are, you just don't see it.'

'I'm not.' I simply answered as I walked past her into my room.

Hayley sighed. 'Ask your sister.'

With that our discussion was finished and I grabbed my stuff before walking to the make up room.

Just two more minutes before Bella and I had to go on stage.

It was nerve-racking.

'Are you nervous?', I asked Bel. Stupid question, though. She was shaking next to me.

'Ye-yes.'

I wrapped my arm around her. 'Don't be. We'll be there together, okay?'

She nodded. 'Why are you only like this when mom and dad aren't here. Now they think you're a total bitch without any kind of emotions.'

I frowned at her. 'Seriously? Well, that hurts a lot.' I said sarcastically.

She shook her head disappointedly. 'Oh zip it. Just get on that damn stage.'

I looked behind me and saw Sam standing right there.

'Good luck.' He whispered.

I smiled thankfully at him.

Then Bel and I boxed our fists and walked on stage.

'Hello Americccaaaa!' I yelled.

The crowd went crazy when they saw us coming on stage.

We talked with the crowd a little, before we introduced the judges.

The show went by really quick and I saw the judges coming back from the panel for the last time this evening.

'Girls, you were brilliant. I'm so proud of you two!' Simon walked over to us and gave us a hug.

'Thanks. It was fun.' Bella said. I nodded.

'But I'm tired. I'm going to bed, see you guys later.' I saw mom trying to say something to me but I quickly turned my back and left them alone.

As I almost stumbled, but before I could hit the floor I could feel someone's arms around me.

'Are you okay?', I looked at a guy in a jeans and a blue shirt. His hair was brown and so were his eyes.

'Yes. Uh, thank you.' I stuttered.

He smiled and then reached his hand to me.

'I'm Michael Davids, but you can call me Mike.'

'Mike. Yeah. Hi. I'm... I'm...'

'Laurine Lovato?'

'Laura. Yes, I am. Nice to meet you.'
