Chapter 37: The Maze

Error's POV hours later

Finally finished! Now to just add the eyes with some stitches and...there!

"Glitchy I know you can hear me! You're right here after all and I felt the walls of the cube so I know that you cannot leave!"Nighty yells

I lay back, snuggling into the cozy comfort of my new creation. I grab different parts, wrapping it around me to hold me closer. It's great as I had thought. I lift the phone up, taking a picture.

"Glitchy! You can't ignore me forever!"He says, pacing along the wall

Then I hear a dinging loud and clearly.

"𝕋𝕙𝕖𝕪 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕒 𝕕𝕖𝕔𝕚𝕤𝕚𝕠𝕟. 𝕋𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕨𝕚𝕝𝕝 𝕓𝕖 𝕒 𝕔𝕙𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕘𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕤𝕖𝕖 𝕨𝕙𝕠 𝕚𝕤 𝕣𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥 𝕠𝕣 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕡𝕒𝕥𝕙 𝕨𝕚𝕝𝕝 𝕓𝕖 𝕡𝕦𝕣𝕤𝕦𝕖𝕕. 𝔸𝕟𝕕 𝕟𝕠, 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕕𝕠𝕟'𝕥 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕒 𝕤𝕒𝕪 𝕚𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤."

A paper appears beside Nightmare. He narrows his eyes at the note.

"Congratulations! You have been chosen to compete in the Blindfold Glitch Challenge! You and three others will go blindfolded into a maze and try to find your way to the center. First one that gets in there gets the glitch until further notice and you get to have your fun do-Argh!"He reads, crumpling it up in disgust

Then I get teleported away, losing sight of him. I see roughly constructed stone walls and two large, heavy doors as the only exit. I glance around to see that my things are still with me. Including the giant puppet of Nightmare I made. I snuggle up to it, then open a few screens to see exactly who is here and where they are. I see that other than Nightmare that Dream, Shattered, and Reaper were also chosen. Both Reaper and Shattered were making progress quickly with their tentacles or wings to assist them in feeling around while Dream and Nightmare were stumbling. I see two cuffs on Nightmare's wrists in addition to the blindfold that seems to be keeping him in his passive form. I zoom out and see that they were each put in a different corner, though two of them were rapidly moving inward. At this rate, Reaper is most likely to reach these doors first.

This isn't fair, they have advantages that Nightmare doesn't! Wait...There's no established rules besides the goal....So.....

I send my strings out into the maze through the screens. I tie Reaper's wings shut, making him hit the ground hard. I chuckle as he groans. I rip the strings to finalize it, then do the same with Shattered's tentacles. Then I have a string tie around Nightmare's finger, the other end tied to the door handle. I basically gave him the path that the rest didn't have. Now I just sit and wait to see who makes it here first.

I may not have a say in this but I certainly have a part to play in this outcome.

I smile, seeing Nightmare quickly follow the path provided by the string. Then I hear a knock at the door, seeing Reaper at the door.

"Oh darling!~ Are you in there? I'm ready for some fun!~"He coos

I see on the screen for the map that Shattered is closing in as well along with Dream. I see an arrow strike through the door, narrowly missing Reaper. That starts a fight between the two which was funny to witness since they're both HORRIBLE at self-awareness with the blindfolds on. Then Shattered joins in and they fight their way, getting further away from the door towards a dead end.

I sigh with relief.

That was too close....

I hear a softer knock.

"Glitchy?"I hear Nightmare call out

"NiGhTy!"I cheer, running to open the door

"Are you okay?"He asks

"YeS! GeT iN bEf0rE tHeY c0mE!"I tell him

I see the knobs jiggle.

"The door is locked."He says

I grab the knob to unlock it but feel an electrocution run up my body, worsening the more I hold on. I let go, getting knocked back off my feet. Luckily I made the large puppet or I'd slam into the wall myself. It hit the wall roughly instead.

THUD!

"Glitchy!"He shouts

I see the doors burst open and then chains appear on my wrists, locking me in place. Nighty runs to me, holding my cheek gently.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Where? Let me see!"He says worriedly as he feels me for injuries.

I reach up, tearing the blindfold off of him.

"I aM oKaY....HaD s0m3 g0oD cUdDlEs t0 cuSh1oN mY fA1L."I say with a chuckle

"Good cuddle..? Who have you been giving MY cuddles to?"He snaps

"AnD y0u sAy y0uR l0vE lAnGuAgE iSn't pHySiCaL t0uCh. LoOk uP siLlY."I say

He glances up, seeing the giant doll behind me.

"You...made a giant doll of me?"He says

"YeP aNd hE's gEtTiNg aLl mY cUdDlEs."I say with a chuckle

"That's right. I am."He says, gently brushing my cheek

My cheeks burn.

"WhAt ArE y0u g0iNg tO d0? GiVeN tHaT i aM sTuCk hErE."I say as the cuffs expand to cover my hands so I can't use them

He grins.

"Shower you with affection and take those cuddles, Glitchy.~"He coos

Stars that nickname...

He pulls me closer, being small enough to climb into my lap. He twists the doll with us so we are hidden with its back to the open door.

"Now, where were we?"He asks

I lift my hand the best I could.

"I knOW wHeRe.~"I say, pulling him into a kiss

Now THIS is better. Finally, time with just us....

"I love you, Error. I know I told you already but I love you dearly. Every moment with you is wonderful. You make my soul soar just when I see you. There's nobody like you and you are someone to be treasured. I will do all that I can to fulfill that.~"He purrs by my neck, snuggling his head into my shoulder

I feel my soul skip beats at his words as my face burns more than ever.

"NiGhTyy...."I sigh, smiling

"My guess is that words of affection is your thing."He says

I nod.

"I'll take great pleasure in treating that, my dear Glitchy."He coos

"HEY! We can hear you!"I hear Reaper snap

We peek around the doll to see the three of them entering.

Oh come on....We were having a good moment!
