Error's POV a week later
So now those two are scheduled for regular therapy sessions, one being today that Nighty is going to. The gang doesn't know that, Nighty excuses it as a private meeting. That being said, they are taking advantage of his absence to spend the day with me.
Killer drags me through a portal with the other three following. I see the familiar flags and tables for pride festivals. I chuckle, amazed that enough time has passed for a second pride event to occur. Yet I notice there is mainly ace flags hanging. They're the majority in the crowd here.
"Happy Ace Week, Error! It's October here so we thought that we could celebrate it with you!"Killer says
"WhAt iS aCe we3k?"I ask
"It is a week to recognize asexuality and raise awareness about it! To celebrate the community!"Killer says
"Raise awareness, huh? Well let's go to the educational stands first. Dust needs some education on it with the jokes he has been making when Error is gone."Horror says
"Oh come on! They're funny!"Dust says
"No, they're really not."Horror growls, leading theway into the event.
"Hello there and welcome to Ace Week! Are you an ally or one of us?"A lady asks at the gate
"Four allies and one member."Horror says, pushing me forward.
The lady smiles, sticking ally badges to each of their shirts and putting an ace cake sticker on my shirt.
"Welcome!"She says, opening the gate to the event
We walk inside and Horror leads us to the educational stands. Each had signs like "BASIC FACTS ABOUT US", "ATTRACTIONS", "The Spectrum", and "FACT VS MISCONCEPTION". Horror takes us to the attractions stand first.
"Hello there! Would you like to hear about the different kinds of attractions?"The man at the stand asks
"Yes please, I think we need to know the difference."Horror says, elbowing Dust.
"Wonderful! Well just like orientations, there are different kinds of attraction. Most only believe that romantic or sexual attraction exist or know about that much like the two orientations exist. But attraction is much more diverse than that. May I remind you that romantic and sexual attraction are two separate things. Just because aces like me don't feel the sexual attraction that others do doesn't mean that we can't love or get attracted to thers. There is romantic attraction, but even aroaces can feel other forms of attraction. There's two other forms of attraction that often gets overlooked. Aesthetic and sensual."He says, showing a chart behind him
Each of them lean closer to observe it and read it.
"Aesthetic attraction is pure appreciation of someone's appearance. Most think that if you find someone good-looking that means there is something more behind it but this sort of attraction doesn't have that. Think of the aesthetic of an object like...a painting. You appreciate that painting's attractive appearance but that doesn't mean you'd fuck it or date it. That's aesthetic attraction. And sensual attraction is the desire to affectionately touch someone else but that doesn't mean it desires sex. This could be holding hands, cuddling, hugs, kisses, or just some sort of touching."He explains
There is a pause as this info sinks in. Even I wasn't fully aware of this. I smile, knowing that I have both of those attractions when it comes to Nighty. I love his handsome or adorable looks and desire to cuddle him often, which is easy when he always desires to cuddle me it seems.
"Thank you! That was very informative!"Horror says, taking us to the spectrum stand next and dragging Dust by the arm.
"Hello there! What can I help you with?"The lady there asks
