Sang POV:

As soon as Kota got me back to Nathan's house, I dash inside, grab another couple cans of cat food, bottles of water, and some snacks for myself. I need to see Precious and her kittens; they'll help calm my mind and heart. I force myself to have a little faith in my family. For all I know, those girls were cousins or something. Whatever. I will be talking to those two about this though. If the girls go to Ashley Waters, I have a feeling my injuries are going to become a permanent fixture upon my body.

Kota POV:

Something is seriously wrong with Sang. She seemed hurt, but was forcing herself to act like nothing was wrong. Much like her lying skills, her acting skills are minimal. I grab her bag that Mr. B. gave to me when I got to Luke and North's house, and brought it inside. I see her rushing about grabbing stuff for the barn cat, without her registering anything around her. She ignored Victor and Silas sitting on the couch, playing a fighting game. She didn't respond to their greetings. I know she can get lost in her head like the rest of us, but this is a bit much. I manage to step in front of her in the kitchen before she can bolt out the patio door. Her full arms crossed over her chest holding her offerings connect with my stomach and cans and bottles fall to the floor.

"Oh! Sorry Kota. I didn't see you there," she exclaims. She places her hand on one knee and kneels slowly down to the floor as I kneel to pick up her stuff. I give her a warm smile that she barely returns.

"No kidding. You were a little distracted. Here," I say handing her the backpack I was still carrying, "this will make it easier to carry everything."

"Thank you! You must have gotten it from Mr. Blackbourne before you picked me up," she says and finally gives me a full smile. I can't help but notice her eyes are a little dull, and she seems to be very cautious in her movements.

"Any time, sweetie. So you're going to go visit the cat? Doc told us what happened this morning," I say hoping to prolong our interaction. I'm completely baffled, but curious when she blushes deeply.

"Yes, Precious had her kittens. I don't want her going off to find food. Her kittens might try to follow her. They might fall out of the loft," she explains logically.

"Okay. Do you have your phone?" I ask trying to give her space, but also making sure that she can be reachable if needed. I'm really hoping she'll invite me along, but she doesn't.

"Yes. I always keep it with me," she says nodding and looking longingly at the door. I guess it's time to let her go before she starts feeling trapped and runs from us again.

Once she's out the door, I head back to the living room to find both Victor and Silas both silently watching me looking worried.

"She's going to the barn to visit the cat, and kittens," I explain.

"What is wrong with her? Why is she so upset? I couldn't hear what you guys were talking about," Silas prods.

"She didn't say anything about that. Just the cats," I report feeling like a failure.

"Why was Princess by North and Luke's anyway?" Victor asks. We shrug, but I have a feeling she wanted to get to the bottom of their weird behavior this morning. Luke especially was acting off with her. While I can see both sides of the latest drama, I know that two wrongs don't make a right. My mom taught me that when I was five, and I've held it close to my chest since then. You can't have so many honorary brothers and hold grudges.
