~Matteo's pov~

Me and Cal had arrived back at our hotel. The sun was still shining brightly, casting a warm golden glow on the bustling streets of the city. As we entered the hotel lobby, the cool air conditioning enveloped us, providing a welcome relief from the heat outside. We exchanged tired smiles.

"Well, I'm going to go take a shower." Cal said, his voice filled with exhaustion. I nodded in agreement, feeling the weight of the day's adventures settle on my shoulders. As Cal disappeared into his room, I made my way to mine, relishing the thought of the refreshing water cascading over my tired body. Stepping into the bathroom, I turned on the faucet, letting the sound of running water soothe my senses. The steam began to fill the room, creating a hazy atmosphere that mirrored my clouded thoughts. I undressed slowly, planning my day out, but out of the corner of my eye, I saw something moving. Curiosity piqued, I turned my head towards the source of the movement, my heart skipping a beat. A chill ran down my spine as I caught sight of a faint shadow flitting across the mirror's reflection. Was it just a trick of the light or something else? I shook off the unease, convincing myself that exhaustion was playing tricks on me. But as I continued to undress, a nagging feeling persisted, urging me to investigate further. I turned off the faucet and walked up to the mirror. The steam from the shower had fogged up the glass, distorting my reflection. I wiped it away with my hand, revealing a clearer view. There, in the mirror, I saw it again - a fleeting figure darting behind me. My heart raced, and a sense of foreboding washed over me. I couldn't ignore this any longer; I had to confront whatever was causing this eerie disturbance. Taking a deep breath, I mustered up the courage to turn around, ready to face whatever awaited me. I turned around to see

Glowing hearts...

I ran out of my bathroom half naked. My heart pounded in my chest as I stumbled out of the bathroom, desperately trying to put some distance between myself and those satanic hearts. The image of those glowing hearts burned into my mind, filling me with a mix of confusion and terror. I hastily grabbed a towel and threw it around my shivering body, my breath coming in ragged gasps. I immediately found my clothes and put them on. As I hastily dressed, my mind raced with questions and fear. I could still feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins as I tried to steady my trembling hands. Every creak of the floorboards and flicker of light made me jump, my senses on high alert.

My bathroom door slammed open, and a million hearts flowed in, making me scream. I stumbled backward, my heart pounding in my chest as the swarm of fluttering hearts engulfed the room. The air was thick with their presence, their soft beats creating an eerie symphony that echoed in my ears. Panic surged through me, my body frozen in a mix of fear and confusion. There was no time to ponder them as the hearts began to pulsate, their rhythm growing faster and more intense. Like they were preparing for war. I got off the floor and ran out of my room to Cal's room. Maybe the hearts won't follow me there. I burst through Cal's door, breathless and wide-eyed, only to find him and Lenna sitting on his bed.

"Oh, hey, Matteo, what's going on?" Cal asked, his voice laced with concern as he took in my disheveled appearance. Lenna, on the other hand, wore a puzzled expression, her eyes flickering between Cal and me. My mind raced, trying to find the right words to explain the chaos that was unfolding in my room, but the thumping of hearts continued to reverberate in my ears, drowning out any coherent thoughts.

"Uhh, Lenna c- Can I talk to you outside for a bit?" I asked sheepishly. Lenna nodded, her curiosity evident in her eyes, as she followed me out of the room and into the hallway. Once we were a safe distance away from the chaos, I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart.
