~A few days later~

~Lenna's pov~

It turns out that the file that we had worked so hard to get was actually fake. Someone had played a cruel trick on us, leading us to believe that we had finally found the answers we were searching for. The disappointment and frustration weighed heavily on our shoulders as we realized that we were back to square one. Apparently someone had gotten to the file before we had and swapped the contents with a meaningless document. It was a setback that we hadn't anticipated, and it left us feeling defeated. As we retraced our steps and analyzed the situation, it became clear that we had underestimated the cunning and creativity of our opponents. They were always one step ahead, manipulating the chessboard of this dangerous game we were playing. It was disheartening to think that our every move was being watched and countered. So we had all decided to take a break and relax a bit before regrouping and coming up with a new strategy. We needed time to clear our minds and rejuvenate our spirits, for the constant pressure had taken its toll on all of us.

So here I was, feeding a stray cat that had wandered into our hotel. Its soft purrs and gentle nuzzles against my hand provided much-needed relaxation. The cat, with its emerald eyes and sleek black fur, as I stroked the cat's fur, I couldn't help but marvel at its simplicity and innocence. Just then, I felt my phone vibrate. It was Kamari.

"Hello!" I said.

"Hey, I was wondering if you're free to hang out." Kamari asked excitedly. I couldn't help but smile at the timing of her call. It seemed like the universe knew exactly when we needed a break from our daily routine.

"Absolutely," I replied, feeling an overwhelming sense of relief.

" Dress cute. I'll come pick you up." Kamari's words filled me with anticipation, and I quickly began mentally rummaging through my wardrobe for the perfect outfit. As I looked down at the kitten still nestled in my lap, I realized I would have to find a safe place for it before leaving. With a reluctant sigh, I gently placed the furry bundle on the floor and watched as it scurried off to explore its new surroundings. I headed back into my hotel room and wore a cute sundress with a floral pattern, feeling a surge of excitement. The sun was just beginning to set, casting a warm golden glow across the city streets as I made my way downstairs to the lobby. Wait, shit I forgot to inform Cal and Matteo.

I rushed back up, feeling a pang of guilt for forgetting to let Cal and Matteo know about my plans.

I knocked on Cal's door and waited anxiously for a response. After a few moments, the door swung open, revealing Cal's surprised expression.

"Hey, what's up?" He asked, clearly caught off guard by my sudden visit, but before I could say anything, someone spoke.

"Who is it, Cal?"

"Oh it's Lenna!" Cal replied. I heard Matteo's voice coming from inside the apartment. Cal stepped aside to let me in, and I entered to find Matteo sitting on the couch, holding Uno cards. He looked up and smiled when he saw me.

I waved at him before saying," So I came here to tell you guys that I'm going to hang out with Kamari, so don't blow up my phone about where I am, ok?" I grinned.

"No one will ever blow up your phone to ask where you are. No one cares." Matteo smirked and playfully rolled his eyes.

Cal chuckled and added, "Yeah, we'll just assume you got abducted by aliens if we don't hear from you." before he continued, "Well, have fun with Kamari. Just make sure you don't disappear for too long this time," he said with a mischievous grin. I rolled my eyes at Matteo's teasing remark.

"Oh please, you guys would definitely blow up my phone if I disappeared without a trace," I retorted, playfully nudging him. Cal laughed and nodded in agreement.
