The Sacrifice

It was the next day. Elena and Stefan stayed together in each other's arms all night. Tori stayed awake the entire night trying to find a way to save Elena in case the elixir didn't work and Damon stayed in his room. There was only one spell Tori found but the spell would require a sacrifice, a life for a life, something she knew she couldn't afford to do. Tori sat on her bed deep in thought, she was frustrated with herself and with everyone. Tonight was the sacrifice. The sound of the alarm broke her out of her thoughts. She had to get ready to leave, she and Bonnie were going to the old witch house.

Tori quickly showered and walked down the stairs with her backpack full of grimoires and spell sheets to see Elena, Stefan, and Elijah gathered in the kitchen.

"Hey!" Tori greeted them. Elijah nodded his head at Tori but frowned slightly seeing the bags under Tori's eyes. Stefan cleared his throat as he noticed Elijah stare at his niece as she poured herself coffee, Elena had told him how she had interrupted a seemingly intimate moment between Tori and Elijah. Elijah quickly turned his attention to Elena "Tonight is the full moon. We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse," Elijah said as Tori sighed

"Elena said that the Sun and the Moon curse is fake? That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus," Stefan clarified

"Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it...He'll be a true hybrid," Elijah informed

"Like Tori?" Elena asked

"We do not know," Tori told the group as Damon joined them

"Then why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today. With Bonnie," Damon stated

"Damon..." Stefan began saying but Elena spoke up "No. Bonnie can't use that much power without dying,"

"I'll write her a great eulogy," Damon said sarcastically

"Well, then you will have to write one for me too," Tori told Damon "I'll expect you to cry real tears too. Will you do that?" Tori asked but received silence "Exactly, it is not an option," Tori told Damon.

"All right, how do we break this curse?" Stefan asked breaking the slight tension

"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know," Elijah said

"The moonstone," Stefan replied

"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both a werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each," Elijah said as Tori looked pale

"Oh, I think I am going to be sick," Tori whispered as she kept her half-drunk coffee on the table.

"And where do I fit into it?" Elena asked

"The final part of the ritual," Elijah said as he took a small wooden box out of his suit pocket

"Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgänger...to the point of your death," Elijah said carefully as Elena and Stefan looked at each other in fear. Tori watched Damon's jaw tick as he heard what Elijah stated.

"And that's where you come in," Elena said as Elijah opened the wooden box revealing a vial of a purple liquid.

"This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation," Elijah said

"So I'll be dead?" Elena asked

"And then you won't," Elijah stated

"That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" Damon scoffed in anger before looking at Elena "You want to come back to life, what about John's ring?" Damon asked looking at Tori
