As Kally thought of Hajjar, she felt terrible about the way their conversation ended. She left him, no, not left him, ran is the right word. When she ran away from him, she told him he was the king of confusion. She said this in the heat of the moment.

Kally avoided him, being by Nova and Owlla's side. She was disappointed with him. He didn't even try to find her or even talk to her, but neither did she.

"This is where you were hiding," Griffin said, appearing suddenly beside Kally. "I was looking for you everywhere. I want to introduce you to someone. She couldn't join us sooner, she needed time to rest."

Kally smiled at him. "Griffin, it's good to see you again."

He smiled back at her. "Yes, I'm glad to see you too. As I told you, I wanted to introduce you to my dear Blossom."

Kally saw one of Griffin's hands stroking his mate's stomach. She realized Blossom was expecting a cub. Griffin's mate had beige skin with white feathers, she had long black hair but not as dark as Kally.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Congratulations, on your future little one. I also wanted to thank you both for your hospitality. For me and my companions."

"It's an honour to have you here," Blossom told her, with excitement.

When Kally saw the affection between Griffin and his mate, she immediately thought of Hajjar. She was saddened and also felt a twinge of envy in her heart. She knew then that she would never have that kind of relationship with the one who stole her heart, and he didn't even know it.

Sometime later came the celebration of Nova's return and the presence of the chosen one. Kally saw the falrowvens playing drums near an enormous bonfire. She found Nova and Sovack side by side.

"Sovack, I wanted to apologize..." Kally couldn't finish what she was saying. Sovack took Kally's face between his hands and kissed her on the forehead. Since Sovack had bonded with her, he could feel so many new emotions. He could act with more kindness and goodwill towards others than before.

Kally observed the other members of the clan dancing in pairs around the fire. She wanted to ask Nova a question about their culture, but when she saw the expression on Nova's face, she changed her mind.

"None of them asked me to dance. It's the same story every time and every time, I'm heartbroken because they always put me on the sidelines. The worst of it is that I know why. Not only am I the sister of the Chief, but I'm also supposed to be the chosen one. But the worst thing about me, why no male isn't attracted to me, is the fact that I'm barren. I can't and never would be able to have cubs. For my people, having children is the most important thing." Nova poured her heart out.

Without further ado, Sovack took Nova's hand and led her to where the others were dancing. She was surprised by his kind gesture and grateful at the same time.

Kally saw them dancing. She was happy for Nova and proud of Sovack.

"He's lucky, it's been a while since I've seen my little sister so happy, otherwise he wouldn't have the chance to be so near her," Griffin watched Sovack dancing with Nova as he stood next to Kally.

Kally jumped by surprise by his appearance, putting her hand on her chest. She turned to Griffin once her heart returned to normal speed. "Blossom isn't with you? I don't think I saw her tonight." Kally wondered curiously.

"She went to bed, she was still tired. You know, being pregnant and all. Come on, we're going to dance." Griffin suddenly said to Kally, smiling at her.

Kally was shocked at his proposal. She looked at him intently to see if he was serious or if he was messing with her.

"But what would everyone think if they saw you dancing with someone other than your mate?" Kally wondered.

Griffin smirked. "Am I not the one who decides here?" He asked sarcastically as he leaned closer to her. "Besides, I have already asked my sweetheart. She gave me her approval. We are good to go. What about the pangarion? Won't he be upset if he sees me dancing with you?"

Kally snorted. "I... I don't know what you mean by that?"

Griffin gave Kally a little nudge. "Come on, I saw how he looks at you, the desire to protect you or if you prefer, the desire to possess you."

"Alright! Alright, let's go dancing." She ended the conversation hastily. She didn't want to hear about Hajjar and his mixed-up signals.

When Kally got to the middle of the dance floor, the drums stopped playing. Those who were dancing before, walked away, leaving Kally alone.

"Now the time has come for those who are single to dance so that you can find a partner for the evening or even better for life," Griffin announced and looked at Kally with a smile.

Kally couldn't believe what she had just heard, she was embarrassed. Did Griffin do this on purpose? So he could lure her exactly where he wanted. What was his end game in all of this?

She didn't like to be the center of attention. Kally closed her eyes to try to calm her nerves.

As she opened them, she looked around. Kally saw the others that already started dancing. She closed her eyes again and focused on the music of the drums and began to move slowly with the rhythm of the sound.

The more she danced, the more confidently she moved. Kally hadn't noticed what was going on around her. Her eyes were still closed.

A terrifying growl was heard near Kally, and she already knew who it belonged to. She opened her eyes. Not a soul was dancing, they all looked at the show before them.

She saw three terrifying falrowvens males near her and a very piss-off pangarion.

Kally didn't have time to react. Hajjar rushed to her side and lifted her over his shoulder. She couldn't speak even a single word, she was too shocked by Hajjar's action.

Hajjar left the dancing floor showing no hesitation, as he walked away from the others, with Kally speechless over his shoulder.
