Walking with Kally in his arms, Hajjar was worried about her. She didn't regain consciousness. He wondered what could have caused this, and then it hit him. It was the warning he received from his mother, Fahyra.

Kally waited too long to gather the four essences and now, the powers she received were too strong to be contained in her body.

If that was the case, they had no time to waste. They had to find a quibasson, and quickly. If he had to, Hajjar would pray to the goddess Lerial if it could help them find a volunteer even faster.

"KALLY!" Sovack and Nova screamed at the same time as they saw Kally lying unconscious in Hajjar's arms.

Hajjar leaned down, putting Kally on the ground gently. He didn't want to hurt her. He pulled some hair off her face to look at her.

"What happened to her? She was fine when she left to find you." Sovack asked Hajjar as he was next to him.

Hajjar didn't say a word, he didn't have the time or the energy to answer him. All his attention was purely on Kally.

Sovack lost his patience, Hajjar ignored him. He pushed him to get his attention. Hajjar was surprised by the violence in Sovack's gesture. The pangarion didn't take time to understand the meaning behind his act, that he shoved the sergozard back. The tension of the group was so high, that it didn't take long for the fight between the two to start.

Nova perched next to Kally, watching them fight against one another. She wanted to stop them but she didn't know how. Nova knew screaming at them to stop wouldn't do the trick. She did the best thing she could think of. She used her sonic scream against them. The pain was so high, that Hajjar and Sovack couldn't do anything else than squat down, covering their ears.

"This isn't the time to know which of you can piss the furthest. What's pressing now is Kally and her well-being. You will stop your childishness and help me find a solution." Nova growled.

After Nova's speech, Hajjar walked away from Sovack and looked at Kally.

Hajjar rubbed the back of his neck. "Nova's right, Sovack, let's put our efforts where it's needed. What I'm sure of is that we don't have time to search for the quibassons. We have to attract one here."

Sovack shook his head. "Easier said than done, Hajjar, and even if we succeed, what guarantees us that we will find a volunteer for someone they don't even know?"

"Nova did it and she didn't know her," Hajjar replied.

Nova cleared her throat to explain herself. "Hajjar, I volunteered because I already knew who Kally was and who she represented."

"So what, we do nothing. Is that what you mean?" Hajjar snapped.

"Stop arguing please," Kally spoke with the little force that she had left after regaining consciousness.

The three of them looked at Kally. Hajjar was the first to react and without thinking, he kissed her tenderly on the lips.

Hajjar was so happy to see her finally opening her eyes. "How do you feel, beautiful?"

"A little better." Kally gasped, realizing what he did. "Hajjar, you just kissed me in front of them."

"It doesn't matter to me. I'll deal with Sovack if I have to." Hajjar told Kally.

Nova wasn't surprised. She knew it would happen eventually. As for Sovack, he wasn't jealous or anything. He was there to protect her, but one thing was certain, if Hajjar would hurt her, he would be there by her side and wouldn't think twice to put him in his place.

"How did I get here?" Kally asked, trying to sit.

"Don't force yourself, let me give you a hand." Hajjar took Kally's hand and put the other on her back to help her sit gently.

"Hajjar brought you here while you were unconscious," Nova answered.

"But why now? I mean, so far everything was going so well." Kally wondered even if deep down she already knew the answer.

"Remember what my mother warned us about before we left? If you wait too long to gather the four essences, the powers you received are too strong to be contained in your body. We can't afford to wait any longer or you will die. We have to attract a quibasson here, to complete the process."

Sovack pointed at Hajjar. "I warned you that this could happen and that we had to hurry."

Nova sighed desperately. "What's done is done, Sovack. What's urgent now is her condition. Let's all take a break to breathe. We can't find any solution by rushing or pointing fingers at each other."

Kally felt dizzy, trying to get up. If Hajjar wasn't holding her, she would have fallen to the ground. She clung firmly to him as she sat down.

"I may have found a solution, but I don't know if it would work or if Nova can do this," Sovack said suddenly. "We know that the quibassons are mostly in the water and are rare to see."

"Get to the point, Sovack!" Hajjar said impatiently.

Sovack scowled at Hajjar. "Nova could dive into the water and use her sonic scream to make an ultrasound and hope that one of them will interpret it. Unless one of you has a better idea."

"Very well, I can try." She cleared her throat. "Now, all of you, turn around so I can undress myself to go in the water."

After making sure no one was looking at her, she swam in and took a deep breath before diving underwater. Nova made an ultrasound the best she could. It was different to do it underwater. As she came out, Sovack came to her side to catch her when he saw her lose her balance. He caught her just in time.

"Sovack, but what are you doing, I'm naked!" Nova panicked.

"Who do you prefer to catch you, me or him?" He pointed at Hajjar with his head.

"You! Definitely, you." She didn't hesitate to say.

While Nova was dressing, Sovack went in front of her, preventing the others from seeing her. Since they danced together, a friendship had developed between them.

"Now all we have to do is wait," Kally said, exhausted.

She was sitting, her back up against a tree as her head rested on Hajjar's shoulder. Nova and Sovack joined them as they sat next to them. No one said a word, each lost in their thoughts. None of them noticed that the surface of the water started to move.
