Last night

Without further ado, Sovack took Nova's hand and led her to where the others were dancing. She was surprised by his kind gesture and grateful at the same time.

As they reached the dance floor, the falrowvens stared curiously at them. It wasn't just Sovack presence that was unusual, it was the fact that Nova danced as well.

Sovack rubbed the back of his neck. "There's just one minor problem, Nova. I don't know how to dance. My kind... I mean we don't know how this works."

Nova tilted her head to the side. "So why did you invite me to dance? Don't get me wrong. I'm very grateful. I just don't want you to feel uncomfortable."

Sovack shrugged. "I didn't think this through. It was just the right thing to do."

Nova chuckled. "Follow my steps Sovack, cause right here, right now, I'm going to teach you how to dance."

Nova went beside Sovack and showed him the dance steps that he needed to do. Surprisingly, he understood the process quickly.

She smiled with incredible joy. It had been so long since she had felt that happy. Her smile faded when she saw a certain someone stare at her. Sovack saw Nova's expression change drastically. He looked to where she was looking and that's when he saw a falrowven glaring harshly at her.

Nova felt relieved when she heard the drums stop as she couldn't feel his eyes on her. As Sovack and Nova walked away from the dance floor, they saw Kally walking towards the bonfire. Sovack stepped toward his queen.

Nova grabbed his arm to stop him. "Come on, we have to sit down. It's time for the others to dance. If she's over there, it's because my brother has his reasons. Don't worry about her. Nothing will happen to Kally, trust me." Sovack thought for a moment and decided to follow Nova.

"Now the time has come for those who are single to dance so that you can find a partner for the evening or even better for life," Griffin announced and looked at Kally with a smile.

Nova and Sovack looked at Kally as she started to dance. The more she danced, the more she gained confidence in her movements. Sovack noticed three falrowvens that approached her without her even knowing. He was about to intervene when he heard a terrifying growl. He knew exactly who it was.

Sovack and Nova were surprised when they saw Hajjar take Kally over his shoulder, walking away with her.

Deep down, Sovack knew that she was safe with Hajjar. He could have at least warned him. He wanted desperately to go after them and give Hajjar a piece of his mind, but after witnessing the way the stranger was looking at Nova, he knew he had to stay with her. He knew she was Griffin's sister and no one would dare to harm her, but he didn't want to take the chance.

Sovack felt someone staring at him. He looked around to see who it was. It was the same falrowven that kept glaring at Nova while they were dancing.

Sovack scowled. "What's his problem? Why doesn't he stop staring at you like that?"

Nova sighed desperately. "His name is Conwell. He was once my mate."

"Was?"

"He claimed he loved me. He told me it didn't matter to him that I was the leader's sister or even the chosen one. When we learned that I couldn't offer him a family, he didn't hesitate to break our engagement by telling me he lost two years of his life because all he wanted was to become a father and he didn't wait to find someone else." Nova poured out her heart.

It surprised Nova when she saw her former lover walking towards her. Since their separation, he acted as if she didn't exist. Sovack placed himself in front of Nova to shield her from him.

"My little star, what a pleasure to see you." Conwell smiled smugly.

"Don't call me that again, you lost that right." Nova was fuming inside.

Conwell turned to Sovack, watching him with bitterness. "Could you get out of the way and leave us alone? I want to speak to her privately."

Sovack crossed his arms and didn't make a move to get out of his way. He looked at Conwell with a scowl. His instincts told him not to trust him.

"Hey pal, did you hear what I said? I want to talk to Nova privately." Conwell insisted.

Sovack scoffed. "First of all, I'm not your pal. Secondly, can't you see she doesn't want to talk to you?"

"Is there a problem here?" Griffin asked, placing himself next to his sister.

"Yes, I want to speak to your sister in private, but that sergozard won't let me," Conwell whined.

Griffin crossed his arms as he looked at Conwell. "Don't disrespect our guest, by doing so you disrespect me."

Conwell cleared his throat as he was terrified. Griffin was someone who put his clan before himself, but no one dared to go against him. All his life, they raised him to be the leader that he is today. Conwell took a few steps back and left to where his new lover waited for him as she watched Nova with jealousy.

"Well, if that is all, I have to go and see how my sweetheart is doing. Goodnight, you two." Griffin waived at both of them.

The next day, Nova went looking for Sovack to thank him for what he did for her. It didn't take long to find him as he was already waiting for her outside her hut.

Nova smiled, looking at Sovack. "Good morning. I just wanted to thank you again for what you did for me last night. I appreciate it."

Sovack smiled back at her. He didn't know what to say. No one had ever thanked him before except for his queen.

"There is something I would like to ask you, but I don't know how you'll react. The other day, Kally wanted to talk to you about your sister and you left so suddenly. Can I ask why you behaved that way?" Nova took the risk to ask him.

Sovack took a deep long breath and thought about how he could answer her. Nova shared her past with him. The least he could do was to do the same.

"All I could tell you is when Kally mentioned my twin sister, I felt a deep feeling, I couldn't understand. Ever since I bonded myself to my queen, I have developed all kinds of emotions. I was so lost because of them I didn't know how to handle them, so I left."

Nova didn't know what to say, so she hugged him instead. It surprised him at first. He didn't know how to act. With hesitation, he wrapped his arms around her.

Kally and Hajjar were finally back. The day went by so fast it was already time to leave. Nova was very sad to leave her family. She didn't know when she would see them again. She comforted herself with the thought that she found new beings that she already loved.
