CHAPTER 44~RUBY'S POV

               A driver was sent to pick me up the following day so I waved my father good bye since I wasn't going to see him because he had other things to attend to before he comes but he was very happy to see me dressed in my mother's ball dress.
We arrived at the palace where the ball was going to hold and I walked in, immediately I stepped in all eyes were on me and I could hear some people whisper Isabella but only one person caught my eyes..... Arthur, he just stood close to the drink bar staring at me and I liked it in a way
"we can bring him back"Glenda said
"how?"I asked
"show love to him"she said
"you know that won't be possible,he doesn't even want me to come close to him because he hates me glenda so get rid of whatever Brenda and you have been planning cause it won't work"I said and blocked her and just then queen Avery came to meet me with her husband,she was dressed in a very beautiful blue gown and king Alexander also wore a blue suit
"my dear ruby"queen Avery said giving me a tight hug
"what of your father?"king Alexander asked
"something important came up but he said he might make it if he finished whatever he was doing on time"I said
"oh"queen Avery said
"come let's introduce you to some people"queen Avery said and took my hand before leading me to the table for the respected guests mostly the werewolves and lycans who were chatting away
"everyone I would like you to meet ruby, Dwight and Isabella's daughter,my son's mate"king Alexander said and they all smiled "she looks so much like her"a man said and the others nodded
"come here child"another man said and I went to him and he hugged me "you look so much like my sister"he said tears glistening in his eyes
"stop being so emotional right now ian"a woman I thought might be his mate said and everyone smiled
"why won't I be she grew so fast"he said and the woman rolled her eyes "anyway I'm lily,Ian's wonderful mate"she said stretching her hand for a handshake and I smiled before accepting it
"nice to meet you"I said, one by one I was introduced to all of them before I was allowed to leave and so I immediately went over to the food bar and served myself  some snacks on a tray and began eating before I heard the announcement that Fiona was coming so I looked towards the double door still eating when fiona walked in majestically looking prettier than before,she walked up to her mother who took her to a stage where her father was already
"today I stand before you all very happy to tell you that my beautiful daughter Fiona is 200"king Alexander said and they all applauded
"i want you all to celebrate with me as there is something to eat and drink for whoever cares to so goodnight"king Alexander said and everyone clapped as he walked down with his queen and daughter
"hey rubes"she said and I raised an eyebrow
"did you just come up with that?"I asked and she shrugged her shoulder "anyway you are looking great this night"she said
"thanks"I said and she smiled
"so what do you do today as a vampire princess?"I asked
"dance with male vampires who haven't found their mates hoping I find mine tonight"she said
"but you already know your mate"I said
"yeah I know but I just have to pretend like I don't know him yet until I explain to mum and dad"she said
"right"I said pressing my lips to a thin line
"shall we dance princess?"a guy with raven black color of hair asked and I gave her an encouraging smile before she left with him, I saw Arthur dancing with a random girl and frowned
"can I have this dance?"a guy with gold hair said
"sure"I said and we went to the dance floor,we danced for sometime before exchanging partners and I was now dancing with a guy with red hair after dancing for sometime we exchanged partners again and I was now dancing with the guy that hates me the most
"I never knew you could dance Arthur"I said and he rolled his eyes "just shut up and let's get this over with"he said
"there's no need for you to act so rude because I never said anything wrong so you can as well shut up"I said in the rudest voice I could muster
"I see you want to start that bitchy attitude of yours"he said
"oh just shut up I know you hated me long enough okay and I don't care about what you think about me too because I also hate you"I said and just before he could reply we exchanged partners.

              We were done dancing and feasting  was going on, I was also busy eating when fiona came to meet me "ruby I saw you and Arthur dancing"she said
"yes I know you would have seen us"I said with a sigh and she sat next to me "you know I still have hope that you and Arthur can still be together"she said and I laughed
"that isn't possible fiona,he hates me and I guess our pairing was a mistake"I said
"ruby look at we your friends,Theo, Gwen, Jaymes, Roisin and I, almost all of us have found our mates, I have found mine in theo while Roisin has found her's in Jaymes and I'm sure the rest of us will still find theirs but you ruby you've found yours and you are still behaving like this"she said
"Fiona you know Arthur and you know all what he has committed since he accepted his monster and he now hates me"I said
"but do you hate him?"she asked "Fiona I...."I started but she interrupted me
"no ruby I know you don't hate him"she said and she was right, I know I didn't like the way Arthur was behaving but hate was something I never felt for him
"yes fiona I don't hate him but don't you see the way he behaves"I said
"he needs you ruby just like you need him the only thing is that he has accepted his monster but you have to be brave enough to bring that Arthur back and I know you can"she said and left
"how does she expect me to do that?"I asked myself and walked out to the garden, I stood at the small bridge that led to the garden and saw Arthur standing at the other end looking into the water with a sad look and I found my legs moving towards him "Arthur"I said touching his shoulder and he slowly turned around.....
