Fatigue

Kane looked at the mysterious visitor. Kane couldn't believe his eyes when Fenton explained the visitor's power to Kane. The visitor's power would have rivalled Kane's with only a bit more time.

Kane would have fainted if he had been brought here in normal conditions. Yet Philip's well-being held much more importance for Kane.

"Are you sure he'll be fine?" Kane could not help but worry about Philip.

"Yes, I am sure. I am one of the best healers in the underwater realm. His body has been healing well, but tell him to avoid using magic for some time. He should rest for at least 2-3 weeks before going on another adventure ." The mysterious voice spoke. They were conversing about Philip as he was supposed to wake up that day.

Suddenly, an overbearing aura took control of the room as a voice spoke, "You should not worry so much about that mortal, Cursed One. If I were you, I would worry about my fate. The day of reckoning is closer than ever. You know what shall happen still you stay here, fiddling your thumbs for a human?"

Kane felt immense hatred for him for saying it even though his words bore no ill will. "Lord Fenton, I have already told you not to speak about this. I threw my fate away along with my title. I ensured no being would know my true identity, so I would appreciate it if you did not bring it up."

"Forgive me, Cur- Elf. I can't help but worry about your fate in particular. This little rag-tag group of yours is truly ill-fated. Your fate would make even some Gods and Harbingers fall, and it is still second to his fate. You wish for me not to speak of this, but let me give you one final piece of advice. Soon, in your adventures with Philip, you will meet another God - Tox'oT, the archer. He will see your fate, just as I did, and offer you a choice to become his apprentice. Choose it or not, but either way, prepare to be betrayed."

"Now, we must truly stop speaking of this. Philip is awake."

Philip's eyes slowly opened as he saw a lantern hanging above his head. Philip tried getting up, but his body screamed at the thought of it. It was hard for him to keep his eyes open. He realized though his body was mostly healed, it was still fatigued. Everything around him seemed more fluid.

He was unable to sleep so he lay there with his eyes open. He would have laid there for some more time when he saw a hand move above him.  His instincts took over as he moved his body up. He looked up to see whose hand it could have been but saw no one. He turned around and saw a person in a lab coat standing, with his back towards a screen of monitors.

However, that man was too far away for his hand to have reached here. Philip looked around once again and saw a fish lazily flying beside him. Philip realized it was the fish he had seen and not a hand. Just as fatigue was about to take over him, his brain came to terms with what he just saw.

He quickly got back up and grabbed the fish. Air bubbles escaped from its mouth but instead of hearing a chittering noise, Philip heard what the fish was trying to say, "Gack! Let me go, *blub-blub* legged monster."

"Legged monster? Do you think that's an insult? And how are you speaking? And how are you outside water?"

"It IS an insult in these waters *blub-blub* and I'm not speaking, you're just listening now, *blub -blub*you uneducated idiot. You're underwater, I'm not on land, everyone here has fins, not feet."

"Underwater?" Philip let go of the fish, due to shock more than anything.

Suddenly a voice interrupted his thoughts as it spoke, "Oh! You're finally awake. Why are you up? Sit back down. "
