As promised you're waiting for them near the cafeteria window. They're both sitting together as they explain everything to the Glader's. Most of them are reluctant on trusting you because you do work for them. Even if you say you're going to betray them they don't have any proof.
"She told us to hide from Janson. I really think we should trust her,"Thomas defended.
"What if she's making you think that?"Minho pointed out. In the meantime you're listening next to the window.
Janson is going to call the names. You quickly run after him to talk to him. You have a plan to get everyone out.
"Excuse me Mr.Janson,"You said politely, though you're cringing at the fact that you have to be any kind of civil to him.
"Y/N, what can I do for you?"He asked. Even though he didn't say it he was rather fond of you. You made sure of it with all the mind games you play on him.
"I talked to Chancellor Paige. She says she tried to call you, but when you didn't answer she called me. She gave me a list of the proper subjects today,"You lied. "Ah. Thank you for telling me. I take it you'll call them?"He asked, as if he didn't know the answer.
"I can do that Mr.Janson. You should take a break anyway. I know you've been working overtime,"You responded, making sure to suck up to him. It always sends uncomfortable shivers up your spine, but for the others sake you push it down.
"No. I have to check on the special ones. I'll see you later I suppose,"He told you, already walking off. Once he was out of your sight you allowed your face to turn to disgust. The fact that he calls them that and things like subjects always made you furious.
Each time though you remind yourself why you put up with this. If you don't the kids will be stuck here forever.
You step into the room, and the Glader's and Aris turn their attention to you. You give your best reassuring smile to them. In that moment you seem trustworthy. Something about the way your eyes seemed to soften once you glance at them seemed so genuine to them.
"If I can have your attention for a moment. I need Aris, Thomas, Newt, Minho, Winston, and Frypan,"You call, sending them a look of determination. They all stand up and follow you into the hall. Everyone is asking questions, but you shush them until you get to the room with Teresa.
"You guys wait out here. If anyone sees you tell them I directed you to wait here. If they reach for something or seem suspicious take this and run as fast as you can,"You direct, handing them your key.
"Go up the vents and make your way there. It's a one way. Once you get out please watch for cranks. They especially love darkness. If I don't see you again good luck."
"Where do we go?"Newt questions. "Go to the mountains. Once you make it to Right Arm tell them Y/N sent you. Just be careful around the road block. They'll start shooting,"You inform them. You see the worry on your faces, but there's no time to assure them they'll be okay. You head inside with a stern face so they believe what you're about to say.
"We made a mistake taking Teresa. I don't know which of you messed up, but not checking the registry was extremely irresponsible. Now I have to take her to a private room,"You easily lied. Everybody here knows Janson and Chancellor Paige adore you so they don't question it as they wake her up and hand her over. You keep a tight grip as you take her out of the room. Thankfully, the others are still there.
"Here. Some of you support her, and some of you go with Aris. When you get to the old abandoned mall look for supplies, but don't turn on the generator. Weapons, food, and flashlights should be used. Get in and out. Good luck you guys,"You tell them, already walking off to knock yourself out and lie about them attacking you. Being a traitor brings quite a bit of pain, but you wouldn't give it up for anything.
"Wait. Aren't you coming with us?"Thomas asks.
"I can't. I have to get others out. Hopefully, I'll see you at the Safe Haven,"You say, giving them a bittersweet smile. You are surprised when Thomas tightly hugs you, but nevertheless you return it.
"Stay safe Y/N, and thank you for everything. I hope you can escape,"He tells you.
"Don't worry about me. Get going you guys. I've got to go electrocute myself,"You say casually. Minho can't help but laugh until he sees that you're serious.
With that you wave goodbye and start your sprint. You grin to yourself at the thought of saving them.
If only you knew saving one of them would doom you all.
