After the Glader's and Aris escape they have only been in the Scorch for three days when they swear they're going to die of heatstroke. Water and food are running low. Survival doesn't seem plausible.
In the meantime you're in your small home with your little sister Nina. Since it's day time though, she's begging to just go outside for a little bit. You're about to say no, but when she points out that she hasn't seen you all week you give in.
"Okay, but just for a little bit,"You bargain. She eagerly nods her head as you place her in long sleeves so her sensitive skin doesn't burn. Once you're both ready you head outside.
"What do you want to do?"You ask.
"Tag. I wanna play tag,"She eagerly requests.
"Alrighty,"You agree, standing still. She takes the bait and tags you before sprinting off. Even though her stubby legs are barely half the height of yours you pretend to be slower as you chase after her.
In the distance everyone hears giggling. Spotting such an innocent noise in a place like this puts them on edge. Then, a little girl runs up and without hesitation hides behind one of their legs.
"Where you are short stack?"You call as you turn around a corner. That's when you spot them.
What really shocks you is when you see her peaking out from behind Newt. You just stand there mouth agape until you spot their obvious burns.
"We need to get you all inside. Come on,"You urge. They just stand there.
"How do we know we can trust you?"Minho asks.
"That's a fair point, and I have no clue what's happened to you all. At the same time I can help. I have medical supplies, water, food, and anything else you need. Just let me help,"You repeat.
"You said we could stay outside though,"You sister speaks up, too young understand the gravity of the situation.
"I know short stack, but these people need some help. Maybe we'll play tomorrow,"You explain. She just glances up and looks at the people in confusion at what was wrong with them.
"I'll let you have a peanut butter and jelley sandwich for dinner,"You say. Her eyes light up as she rushes home. Once she's past you you look at the others expectantly.
"We'll get you guys some food too. Luckily, I know none of you have allergies,"You state.
"How though?"Thomas questions.
"She's the nurse from WCKD,"Newt mumbles, having instantly recognized you.
"Yeah, and I want to help you guys. After that you can tell me anything you want,"You promise.
After exchanging more questioning looks Newt is the first to step foward. Feeling relief you lead them to your house.
"Sorry it's such a mess. It's usually neater, but Nina gets bored easily. Especially, with me picking up so many shifts,"You explain, throwing some of the spare toys in the box they belong in. After searching for everything you'll need and setting it on the table you go into nurse mode as you start making sure they're not hurt too badly.
