You've been trapped with every other kid in WCKD. You've given up hope that the Glader's were coming a long time ago. Now, you do what you can to help the kids because you're the oldest in the room. WCKD put you with kids Chuck's age and younger to study your reaction so you're always trying to comfort them.
You're telling the little one's a story you made up when the door opens. They cower behind you in fear as they see a WCKD worker. You put yourself in front of them in case the worker wants to hurt the kids.
Newt can't help but smile in his disguise as he thinks about how amazing you are with them. Then, he remembers you can't see his face yet so he pulls it off. You stand there in shock as the little kids are just confused.
You mumble his name still in disbelief. Despite the flare taking his mind his heart melts at your reaction. Without hesitation you run up and kiss him. Even though there's a mission he can't help but kiss back. After what feels like almost no time at all you have to pull apart as you remember where you are.
"Come on. Let's go,"Newt tells the kids. They're confused, but when you repeat their words they fully trust Newt. As you split up so he can find Minho and you can take the kids to Brenda you give him one last kiss.
On the inside his heart breaks because he has a feeling that may have been your last one.
