"𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 is long, the silver cat feeds, when blue meets yellow in the west."

Steve, Robin, Dustin, and I stand in front of the whiteboard, with the finished translation. Steve and I share a glance, confusion written all over our faces.

"I mean, it just... it just can't be right." Steve says as he pull down the gate to Scoops Ahoy before locking it up.

"It's right." I insist, stopping in place to wait for Steve, while Robin and my brother trail ahead.

The entire mall has closed for the night, leaving the dimly lit area and stillness of the space to create a sort of serene atmosphere. We're the only ones still here, having spent the entire afternoon and evening attempting to translate the Russian transmission.

"Honestly, I think it's great news." Dustin comments, as Steve stands and makes his way over to me, before we start walking together.

"How is this great news?" Steve chuckles dryly, raising his hands in the air and dropping them, "I mean, so much for American heroes. It's total nonsense."

"It's not nonsense." Dustin argues, rolling his eyes at my best friend, "It's too specific. It's obviously a code."

"What do you mean, a code?" Steve asks, his eyebrows furrowing with confusion, as we walk past the closed shops.

"Like a super secret spy code." I reply, glancing at Steve with a smile, while he just roll his eyes.

"Yeah, exactly." Dustin pipes in, turning over his shoulder to nod at me.

"That's a total stretch." Steve scoffs lightly, and I place my hand over my heart, glancing at the boy with fake offense, which causes him to smile.

"I don't know, is it?" Robin asks, curiously, turning to face Steve and I.

"You guys can't seriously be buying into this." Steve asks, raising his eyebrows at both Robin and I.

"Listen, just for kicks, let's entertain the possibility that it is a secret Russian transmission." Robin starts, before shrugging her shoulders, "What did you think they were gonna say, 'Fire the warhead at noon'?"

"Exactly." My brother nods, gesturing towards Robin.

"And my translation is correct. I know that for sure, so..." Robin adds, "'The silver cat feeds.' Why would anyone talk like that unless they're trying to mask the true meaning of their message?"

"Exactly." Dustin nods again.

"And why would anyone wanna mask the true meaning of their message unless the message was somehow sensitive?" I continue Robin's thought with a shrug.

"Exactly." My brother sends a pointed look towards Steve, while gesturing towards me this time.

Steve rolls his eyes in mockery before mouthing our previous words. In response, I lightly smack Steve's arm, making him wince and send a sharp glare my way, causing me to smile sweetly back at him.

"So I guess that confirms your suspicion." Robin tells my brother with a growing smile.

"Evil Russians." Dustin replies simply.

"I can't believe I'm about to agree with this strange child, but..." Robin grins, glancing back at Steve and I, causing Steve to send her a sarcastic smile back, "Yeah, totally evil Russians."

"So how do we crack it?" Dustin asks immediately, eager to solve this mystery, as Steve slips away from my side.

"Well, I guess we translate the rest and hopefully a pattern emerges." I say, quickening my pace to stand in between my brother and Robin, who both nod their heads.
