Out of the two Velaryon twins, Jacaerys was the one to hold a grudge the longest. One time when they were only three and ten, Saera told Jacaerys that she would not yet wear a necklace he had gifted her for her nameday because it didn't match her dresses. She had ordered a dozen more to wear the gifted necklace with.

He did not speak to her for a fortnight. Not even when she wore the damned necklace every second of every day. Saera was used to his silent treatment whenever he was angered, but it never ceased to hurt her heart. This time was different too, she was set to leave for King's Landing. And after her tears when he tried to bed her, he did not speak to her for seven days.

For seven entire days her twin ignored her, and now it was the eighth day since the happening and Saera was preparing to depart for King's Landing. "I like this one!" Rhaena said kindly as she helped Saera arrange her jewels in her travelling chest.

"That sapphire is my favorite! Good eye, Rhaena." Saera smiled kindly and nodded, as if letting the girl know it was okay to pack the sapphire necklace she held.

"What do you think of this dress? Is it pretty?" Saera asked Rhaena, who nodded her head eagerly. "Beautiful! You'll mesmerize the entire court in it!" Rhaena said excitedly.

Saera chuckled and dropped her dress in a pile. She was basically taking her entire arsenal of dresses. "I wish I could come with you..." Rhaena sighed, and Saera nodded in agreement.

"I wish you could too..." Saera sighed and then gave her a soft and kind smile. Rhaena was her mother's cupbearer, and she had duties to attend in Dragonstone. There was a soft knock on Saera's door, and then her mother walked in with Daemon in trail.

"Are you almost done, sweet girl? The carriages are ready for you." Her mother said with a soft tone, coming over to her and taking her hand in hers. Saera nodded eagerly and with shining eyes. "Yes! Rhaena and I are just finishing up my chests." Saera pointed out, and Daemon chuckled at her lighthearted nature.

"I recruited a fine young man to go with you as your protector. He is nine and ten, but a promising swordsman if I do say so myself." Daemon stated in a soft tone. Saera smiled and nodded, thankful for her stepfather.

"And Elinda Massey will be going with you as your lady-in-waiting. She is young and was my lady at that very same court. She will be able to guide you and help you with all of your needs." Rhaenyra announced. Saera was happy, Elinda was a kind girl and surely the two would get along great.

"Thank you, mother. I am sure Lady Elinda will be of much help for me in the capital." Saera answered kindly, making her mother sigh and engulf her in a hug. "I never want to let you go, but I know I must." Rhaenyra said as she squeezed her daughter in her arms.

"To be fair, I never want to let go of this hug either." Saera chuckled heartedly. Rhaenyra chuckled too and pulled away. "Get your coat, sweetling. Your brothers are awaiting in the courtyard to see you off." She told her and with that, her mother was off with Daemon.
