"The Prince Jacaerys has came back, princess." Allan announced for the twentieth time that morning, and Saera only rolled her eyes and waved her knight off. "Tell him to leave, Allan." She ordered sternly, looking at him through the looking glass as Elinda did her hair for the petitiom hearing.

It was the morning after she had found out of Jacaerys' betrayal, and she did not sleep at all because her twin brother had taken to banging on her door all night to try and apologize— though obviously she did not wish to see him. The prince had relented, but as soon as the sun shone once more in the morning, he was banging at her door.

"I will." Allan nodded dutifully and left the bedchamber. A few minutes of peace happened upon her apartments, until his banging once more interrupted her morning, prompting Allan to walk into her chambers. "He is back."

Saera seethed, "tell that whorish piece of shit to leave me alone!" she shrieked, whipping her head to Allan. Elinda gasped in shock, "princess! Respect your future husband! You are acting a insolent br-"

"Shut up!" Saera shrieked at her lady in waiting, sick of her and her berating. "Just shut up for once in your life, Elinda!" She snapped angrily, though as soon as she saw her lady's face fall— she regretted it. It wasn't Elinda's fault what her brother had done, yet the constant pressure she put on Saera made her snap.

"I will send for other maids to finish helping you ready." Elinda said, and before Saera could apologize to her— the lady had already fled the chambers. Saera took a deep breath, burying her face in her hands. "You must think I am the worst." Saera mumbled, and she heard Allan shuffle in his feet before chuckling lightly.

"If I witnessed what I had from my own betrothed... I reckon I would be acting the same." He said honestly, causing Saera to look up at him with a grim expression on her face. "I've wasted years on Jacaerys, Allan."

"I know." was all he said. "And I know... what I've done with Aemond is just as grave as what he has but... but I..." She trailed off.

Allan stepped to her, placing a hand on her shoulder in a supportive manner. "You've no need to explain yourself to me, Saera. My loyalties will forever— until the end of times— lie with you." He said softly, giving her shoulder a small queeze. She looked up at him with soft eyes, and she knew that without Allan in her corner, her life would be all the more difficult.

"He chased me for years!" She blurted, "he made me feel like I was wrong for never wanting to kiss him! Made me feel like I was the bad sister for not paying him enough attention! He swore and swore and swore that he loved me, that he did all that because we were to be together... and I do not want to be with him, but it fucking hurts that he would manipulate me just to be with another... for the gods know how long."

Allan remained silent, because he had no idea what he could possibly say to make her feel better. "I wasted years of my life in an unhappy betrothal, lying to myself and trying to convince myself that I could love him like a husband because I thought he knew what was best. Turns out he is just a lying, cheating, and conniving whore." She said disdainfully.
