"Cressida! Wait!" After a moment of shock, we ran after the blond Gryffindor. "No! Leave me alone!" Snorting with rage, she sped through the hallways at breakneck speed, making it impossible for us to catch up to her. "Woah! What's going on here?" a fourth-year boy yelled as Cressida sped past him in the common room and jumped into the hole leading out of the common room. The three of us hurried after her. Garreth met us at the Grand Staircase. "Garreth! Stop Cressida!" I shouted at him, and the redhead reacted immediately. He threw himself on the blonde in a dive and held her tight. "Let me go, asshole!" Cressida tried to fight back with hands and feet, but Garreth only held her tighter until he finally brought her in a tight hug. "Hey, hey! It's okay." Cressida was still punching Garreth's chest, but her punches weakened until she finally gave up and clutched his sweater, crying. The Gryffindor gently stroked the blond curls and whispered something in Cressida's ear that only she could hear. "So, what's going on here? Why are you chasing Cressida all over the castle?" "We had a fight," I explained out of breath. "And about what?" Cressida visibly stiffened in Garreth's arms as he asked his question. "That... we can't tell you," I tried to avoid a straight answer, after which Garreth just nodded. "Understand. Girl stuff, huh?" "Yeah, something like that." Nellie scratched the back of her head nervously. "What do you think if you all calm down first. Separate from each other." The Gryffindor pushed Cressid slightly away to look into her eyes and wiped the tears from her face. "Would you like some chocolate cake? I could get us some from the kitchen." The blonde in his arms nodded in agreement. "That sounds good," she sobbed. "Come on then." With a gentle smile, Garreth took Cressida's hand and led her down the stairs to the dungeons.

"Wow! Who would have thought a fight would cause Garreth to show Cressida his soft side?!" Nellie marvelled when the two were out of earshot. "Did you see how quickly she calmed down with him?" "Yes!" I agreed. "He must be a wizard or something." We looked at each other for a moment and then burst out laughing. "Wow, that was bad, Y/N!" Natty laughed. "Thanks, I know," I giggled and returned to the common room with my friends.

"Then tell me what that scene with Catherine was earlier," Nellie challenged. In the meantime, we lay in our beds and chatted a little longer. Cressida wasn't back yet. Sighing, I turned to Nellie and Natty and braced myself on my elbow. "The stupid cow doesn't seem to understand what no means. First, she insults me at breakfast, then she harasses Sebastian and me in the Three Broomsticks, and then she more than clearly flirts with Sebastian at dinner." Anger boiled up in me again, and I fumbled with the hem of my pillow. "She tried to badmouth me in front of him." "But Sebastian knows how you are. She can try to talk bad about you for a long time," Natty interjected. "Yes, yes," I murmured. "But what if..." "No, what ifs!" Nellie threw her pillow in my face. "Sebastian made a great stroke of luck with you, and he knows it. Besides, he defended you this morning, if I heard that right?!" "Yes," I replied sheepishly. "And this afternoon and evening?" Nellie asked. "Too." The brunette sat up and clapped her hands. "So what! There you have it! Sebastian wants you and not that snipe Catherine." A shy smile crept onto my lips. "And what do you mean she's flirting with Sebastian?" Natty asked, and my smile disappeared again. "She sat beside Sebastian at dinner and stroked his leg." "SHE DID WHAT?" Natty and Nellie exclaimed in unison. "Yes, and when I told her how pathetic she was, she freaked out. She said she has a right to him because she has known Sebastian longer and kissed him first. I would have taken him away from her." "She doesn't have all the twigs on her broom anymore!" Natty's mouth fell open. "No, definitely not," I sighed. "Well, and then she slapped me in the face. And maybe I provoked her afterwards and caught the second one from her." Ashamed, I avoided the eyes of my friends.
