Harry Potter

A few days after Christmas, Harry donned his cloak for the night once more, but this time he had something else in mind. Ron and he had been scouring the library for who was Nicolas Flamel for weeks, before with Hermione and now just the two of them. They took advantage of the fact that the Weasleys weren't home for the holidays, as their parents were traveling to Romania to visit one of Ron's older brothers, the keeper of dragons.

Even with all the time they spent on it, they didn't discover anything, so Hermione had the idea before she left, if it wasn't in a library book, maybe it was in the restricted area, and they could only see the place with a permit. And they wouldn't get one, he didn't have a good reason to go in there. However, they don't need authorization with an invisibility cloak.

And it is with her that Harry left that night towards the library. What he got was not any information, just almost getting caught by Filch.

The first real thing they discovered was, surprisingly, thanks to Neville.

On a normal day, after the holidays were over, months after they started researching; Harry, Ron, and Hermione were sitting at the Gryffindor table in the great hall having breakfast when the dark-haired boy turned to Harry.

"Harry, I hear you collect cards," Neville said, holding up a Chocolate Frog card.

"Thanks, Neville," Harry replied, picking it up.

It was nice of Longbottom to give him this, even though Harry already has one of Dumbledore's, but he wasn't going to mention it.

He turned the figure over in his hand, reading the inscription:

" Dumbledore is particularly famous for having defeated Grindelwald, the Dark Wizard in 1945, for the discovery of the twelve uses of , and his work on with...

"Nicholas Flameus," he said loud enough to get Hermione and Ron's attention. Harry showed them the card — he knew he'd heard that name before.

"Don't get out of here," Hermione said before bolting outside.

The girl was especially excited since they handed in her homework grades.

When she returned, she was carrying a large book in her arms, a small frown on her face.

"I took it out of the library a few weeks ago to distract myself.

"Distraction? Ron muttered with a mixture of surprise and disgust.

She ignored the comment as she flipped through the book. When she found what she was looking for she began to read aloud.

"Nicolas Flamel," she would say theatrically, "is, as far as is known, the only person who produced the Philosopher's Stone.

"To what?" Harry and Ron exclaimed.

"Frankly, don't you two read?" Look, read this," she said, turning the book toward the boys.

" The ancient study of alchemy was concerned with the making of the Philosopher's Stone, a legendary substance with fantastic powers. The stone can turn any metal into pure gold. It also produces the Elixir of Life, which makes whoever drinks it immortal.

There has been much talk of the Philosopher's Stone for centuries, but the only Stone that currently exists belongs to Mr. Nicolas Flamel the famous alchemist and opera lover. Mr. Flamel, who celebrated his six hundred and sixty-fifth birthday last year, leads a quiet life in Devon with his wife, Perenelle (six hundred and fifty-eight).

A stone that turns metal into gold and doesn't let us die.

Harry has been thinking about it for a long time, and many people would like to have it, but the power it could provide is too great and dangerous. If Quirrell could pull this off the man would surely become more confident and more powerful than he is now, he would be rich, but why is this at Hogwarts instead of with Flamel?
