"Expectations can sometimes lead to Disappointments."

While writing this chapter I was listening to songs. I stumbled upon some Lana Dey Rey songs, so some songs were so beautiful it hit me very hard while I writing this chapter. I am pretty sure I cried for one of them too.

And since we had complex emotions to deal with in this chapter I was pretty low and sad after writing it. So yeah I hope you guys enjoy this.

And also I have started editing the whole book from the beginning. So there are some additional scenes and slight changes. If you want to read our Rhea's and Aarav's journey do give it a shot re-read the book and share it with your Wattpad friends if you like it.

Also, make sure you have read the previous chapters.

Happy Reading people!

Its the final chapter!

Rhea's POV

I shut my eyes briefly, taking a deep breath to steady myself and prepared myself for his questions.

Aryan's expression was grave as he straightened up. His posture, all business and no bull shit like as he stood before me.

"Yeah, so I was heading to Niki's cabin, my friend, to ask her to grab lunch when I saw someone entering the restricted room. The one with all the medicines for the patients. It felt suspicious, so I moved closer. Before I could do anything, he pulled me in, shocking me. He tried to strangle me, but I dodged and defended myself. Eventually, he pushed me down, attempting who knows what-maybe to kill me."

"Rhea," Aarav's voice cut through, hard and disapproving when I mentioned the possibility of being killed.

"I don't know. He got distracted momentarily, and I managed to turn the tables, strangling him cutting off the oxygen until he passed out." I continued, avoiding the word 'kill'. Aarav's glare and tense posture didn't go unnoticed as he looked away from.

Aryan, on the other hand, just hmmed, nodding thoughtfully, scrutinizing me.

I stole a glance at Aarav, finding him staring ahead, fists clenched, crushing the bedsheet beneath his hand.

"Just so you know, it was Abhishek's men," Aryan revealed, watching for my reaction.

Shit, How did he know?

Act surprised.

Right.

"Of course. That little piece of shit," I forced through gritted teeth, feigning surprise, as if Samaira hadn't already briefed me before leaving me to deal with this interrogation.

But something about Aryan's expression raised alarm bells. It seemed like he wasn't buying my lies. He was just contemplating them maybe.

Please, just buy my lies. I prayed mentally.

"Aarav, can I have some words with your wife in private? If you're okay with that?" Aryan asked, looking at me and then him with hesitation evident in his posture as he took a step forward, as if Aarav would attack him for stepping toward me.

Aarav shot me a brief, hard glance before grilling Aryan on why he needed a private conversation, anger evident in his tone.

Please don't piss off Aarav.

I don't want to deal with a pissed off Hulk. I have lot to talk to him today. A lot.

"It's a formality. There are some questions that need to be asked without a third party. I won't stress her or pressure her for any answers she doesn't want to give," Aryan reassured, waving off Aarav's concerns. He then glanced at me intensely, a look that could send shivers down any criminal's spine. Oddly, though I wasn't one, I felt guilty for lying and covering up for his fiancée, Samaira.
