It was early morning in the Glade, and the sun's first rays were just beginning to illuminate the towering stone walls that surrounded the boys' camp.

The smell of Frypan's breakfast filled the dining room as the boys filled the tables. Frypan sighed, no sign of y/n or Newt. Not surprising, considering what happened last night. He grabbed a spoon and put some of his breakfast into a food box and whistled for Chuck's attention. Chuck looked over at him, and then made his way over to him.

"I need you to deliver this to Newt" he said and handed him over a paper bag. "Then you need to deliver this to y/n." he said and put another one into the bag. Chuck furrowed his eyebrows, "Why, they are in the same place" Frypan shook his head. "Not anymore." he said, with a sigh... now Chuck put the two and two together. THey... they broke up?

Chuck made his way out of the dinning area, the sad look on his face caught Minho's attention as he walked by his table. "Hey, Chuck, what's going on?" Chuck hesitated to say anything, but he needed to speak about this... "I think... y/n and Newt broke up." he said, Minho looked at Thomas. "No, they love each other, why would they break up?" asked Minho. Chuck showed him the two paper bags "Frypan asked me to deliver this to them separately." he told them.

Minho looked at Thomas "well this can't be good." he told him. Then grabbed the bag for y/n from Chuck, "i'm delivering this to her." he said, Chuck nodded and walked his way over to Newt's place. The place had been used for storage now ever since he practically moved in with y/n. He was lying on the floor, between a stinking barrel and empty boxes. Chuck couldn't believe it, the happy couple in the glade had just broken up.

Minho and Thomas made their way to my room. The door was slightly ajar, and he pushed it open gently, they saw me curled up in my hammock, tears streaming down my cheeks. I had been crying my eyes out all night, unable to shake the overwhelming feeling of heartache.

Thomas cleared his throat softly to get her attention. I glanced over, my red and puffy eyes meeting their sympathetic gaze. He gave me a warm smile as Minho approached my hammock, holding out the bag of food.

"Hey, Y/N," Minho said softly, "Frypan made you breakfast. He thought you might want some."

I blinked away my tears and managed a weak but appreciative smile. "Thank you, Mins. You're too kind."

Minho set the bag down on a nearby table and then sat on the edge of my hammock, giving her a comforting pat on the back. "I'm really sorry about what happened with Newt," he said earnestly. Thomas waited awkwardly back in the door opening.

Tears welled up in my eyes again, but I held them back this time. "I appreciate that, Mins. It's just... it's so hard."

Minho nodded, understanding my pain. "We are here for you. Me, Thomas and even Frypan. If you ever want to talk or if there's anything we can do, just let us know."

My voice wavered as I spoke, "I think I just need some time to figure things out, you know? Who I am outside of this relationship."

Minho nodded in understanding. "Take all the time you need. And remember, it's okay to explore new things and find out what makes you happy. You don't have to be a gardener if that's not what you want."

I smiled faintly, appreciating my best friend's support. "Thanks, Minho. You're a good friend."

As Minho left her room, I began to eat the breakfast Frypan had prepared. The food warmed my body and I felt some energy coming inside of me.. what do you know? I managed to get up from my hammock and put some clothes on. Then I wandered off to work...

I was eventually sick of gardening. The work reminded me too much of me and Newt and the gladers weren't idiots. They could tell something had happened to me. I was crying while I was harvesting the plants. They looked confused and asked what was wrong. It was too hard for me to say that I made a big mistake by breaking up with Newt. So, I just ran away from the scene.... the other gardeners were confused and angry at the fact that I just left work. they walked to find newt to tell what happened. He was just as upset, he wasn't crying though... but they could tell he had. His eyes were reddish and he wasn't his usual happy self... That's when it clicked. They had broken up.

While running away from her work, she caught Gally yelling at some of the builders and then walked over to him. She was sick of feeling useless in the glade, sick of feeling defenseless now when she doesn't have Newt's support or respect from everyone in the glade. She asked him to learn her how to fight,

Gally hesitated at first, unsure of whether he should help her or not. He had always been known for his tough exterior and reluctance to show kindness. But after seeing the determination in Y/N's eyes, he agreed to teach her how to defend herself.

Over the course of 2 days, Y/N trained with Gally, learning the basics of hand-to-hand combat and self-defense. She pushed herself hard, channeling her frustration and heartbreak into every punch and kick. Slowly but surely, she began to gain confidence in her newfound abilities.

One evening, after a particularly grueling training session, Y/N and Gally walked over to dinner together. Unbeknownst to them, Newt had been watching from a distance, his jealousy growing with each passing day. He had assumed that Y/N and Gally spending time together meant something more, and it was eating him alive.

As Y/N and Gally entered the dining area, Newt's eyes locked onto them. He couldn't contain his emotions any longer and stormed over, confronting Y/N in front of the entire Glade.

"What the hell is going on here, Y/N? You're with Gally now?" Newt demanded, his voice laced with anger and hurt.

Y/N took a deep breath, her eyes meeting Newt's with a newfound strength. "Newt, we're not together anymore," she said calmly but firmly. "You don't have the right to say who I should be with."

The Gladers in the room gasped in surprise, the revelation of their breakup catching them off guard. Y/N turned and left the room, not wanting to stay and face the judgmental whispers and stares.

Outside, she saw Thomas, Minho, and a group of Gladers preparing to enter the maze, determined to find the dead Griever that had been haunting their nights. Y/N hesitated for a moment, then made up her mind. She couldn't let her heartache define her any longer.

She joined the group, her newly acquired fighting skills adding to their strength. Together, they ventured into the maze, ready to face the unknown. Y/N was determined to prove to herself and the Gladers that she was no longer the girl who had been defined by her relationship with Newt. She was a fighter, both inside and out, and she was ready for whatever challenges the maze would throw at them.
