Nahla adjusted her seating on the sofa and sighed, the only thing she became extremely good at doing.

After Zaeem woke up the previous day, she couldn't help but feel bad for him. She started to wonder what it would be like to forget everything about her life in a foreign town where no one knows her. He lost his bad memories which was probably for the best but he also lost his good memories and that is what she couldn't help but ponder on.

Hence, she would sit and think of nothing but that, and also how she had to let go of her curiosity.

Before he woke up, she was curious about many things regarding his life but when she found out that he could not tell her a thing about him, she knew she had to give up on knowing him. But she still had hope which was to wait until he regains his memory.

Nahla was jolted out of her thoughts by Zaeem's cough. She quickly poured some water into a plastic cup and handed it over to him.

It was indeed fortunate that Zaeem wasn't hurt anywhere other than his leg, she would have been left to worry about things he'll need someone else to do for him. She was not his mahram (allowed) so she could only help from afar.

"Good morning. Do you feel okay?" Nahla asked after he drank from the water she gave him. "Yes I do" Zaeem replied. "Do you perhaps remember me?" Nahla asked again.

She didn't know why she had a feeling that he wouldn't be able to remember her. "The eye never lies, especially yours" Zaeem replied. She didn't understand what he meant by his sentence but she assumed he said it because he recognized her so she decided not to ponder on it.

"I brought some clothes and necessary personal toiletries, they in the toilet. But you won't be able to take a bath because of your cast and the cannula too"

"Sure thing, mind if you help me with those" Zaeem voiced referring to his crutches that were a bit farther from where he could reach. "Oh yes, let me get them" Nahla said before reaching out to them by the other end of the room. Zaeem accepted them and headed for the toilet while Nahla sat back on the sofa quietly.

Not long after that, Zaeem exited the toilet back into the room after changing into a different set of clothes and brushing his teeth.

Nahla quietly served him some of the food she brought with her and passed it to him after he sat back on his bed.

"Why do you do this?" Zaeem asked out of pure curiosity, he couldn't help but wonder why since she had nothing to benefit from him. "Do what?" Nahla asked back since the question wasn't quite clear.

"Help me. Why do you help me when I am no one to you?" Zaeem asked again rephrasing his question. "For the sake of Allah" Nahla replied. She needn't ponder on that one question before finding an answer to it. She knew she had no other motive for helping him hence her answer was that clear and simple.

"I was the only person who witnessed the accident and it wasn't a nice experience. I could have let you both be but then for Allah, I helped and I won't be regretting it anytime in this lifetime" Nahla added and smiled.

All Zaeem could do was look into her eyes, there was nothing else to look at. But somehow unknown to him, he could tell her expressions by just looking into her eyeballs. Just a moment back she smiled and her eyes twinkled, that twinkle made him know she smiled at him.
