A scowl graced his face as he listened to everything Na'eel found out about his so-called employee, Laura. But the scowl wasn't just because of anger, it was a mixture of anger and confusion.
He was angry about the guts Laura showed for taking up a loan that doubles itself in a year and confused as to how she was related anyway to his father.
"I've tried to find the connection but it's impossible to find out, it's like the whole event was wiped from the face of earth" Na'eel voiced again, explaining further the inconveniences of his search.
"Have you been able to locate her?" Zaeem asked. "Nope, her location consecutively changes after every hour. Same reason why I think Yusra must have guessed right" Na'eel replied.
"Laura couldn't have done something like this without a proper strategy. Aside that, I doubt this is something that was planned in few days. It must have taken her years of experience to have been able to avoid the countless attempts I made to find her location" Na'eel added.
"And that is what scares me most. What if really this is more than just a theft? What if Laura is stronger than what we imagine her to be?"
"Our only option now is to wait" Na'eel reasoned. "Wait Kuma, you know I cannot wait when I know the damage her stunt placed will be extreme" Zaeem pointed out.
"I know that but she definitely didn't pull the stunt to be caught, that I'm sure of. One reason I definitely know is she wants something other than the money and to have that thing she'll eventually show herself. In basic words, she's waiting for the right moment to strike"
"I hate my life!" Zaeem sighed. "No you don't, not when you have such a dashing person in it" Na'eel grinned at the compliment he gave himself. "Mtseeww to that dashing" Zaeem chuckled.
It was that easy to improve his mood.
"Just relax and prepare yourself for the worst" Na'eel said after a moment of silence. Zaeem didn't say anything but he nodded to acknowledge Na'eel's advice.
"But nace ba, you might want to begin with questioning your father. That man must know something about this" Na'eel voiced again. "That's the same thing on my mind. Besides even if he has no idea, he'll be the one I'll eventually go to for this issue because it is more than just me, it crucially includes the hospital"
"Well..." Na'eel's sentence was interrupted by his ringtone and because he guessed who it could be, he did the needful of picking the call almost immediately it came through.
"You there?" Na'eel asked the caller. "Okay we'll be there in a moment Insha Allah" He added after the reply of the person on the other side of the phone before he ended the call.
"Abdul and Naseem are already there, Shamim is yet to arrive though" Na'eel informed Zaeem who was also waiting for his statement. "I believe he'll also be there in a few, let's not keep them waiting" Zaeem said. "Sure"
They were already ready and were just waiting for the right time to leave the house so all they did was stand to walk out of Na'eel's room.
"Will you bring me back home or I should bring my car?" Na'eel asked. "Even if I'm not able to, you can always book a ride" Zaeem replied.
"Yeah no thank you, you know I hate booking rides" Na'eel said again while taking his car key from his bedside table. "And I don't understand why" Zaeem said while they both walk out of the room towards the house exit.
"You aren't meant to"
"Just keep your key in your pocket, I'll drop you all the way back" Zaeem voiced. "I don't seem to trust the tone with which you said this"
