Nahla watched Lina with keen interest as a smile took over her face. How Lina was jovially narrating their trip to Copenhagen in Denmark. Even though the trip was just three days, they had quite the fun with her brother.
Even Nahla could see that.
And of course, she was mostly happy to have the ever cheerful Lina back after the person her parents intended to marry her off to withdrew the proposal willingly. Lina could only see that as a miracle from Allah.
She was the only one who knew how hard she prayed and begged for that marriage not to take place. Her reason being the person was known by almost everyone for his disgusting behaviour of molestation. He was once even an ex-convict for rape.
She didn't know what and what he told her father that had him wanting her as his wife but she was glad it didn't happen.
No doubt, that was Lina's hardest phase in life. Besides having troubles with marriage, it was also the same period where Oma renewed her healing wound.
Oma reminding her of her past didn't help at all.
But there she was, happy again and ever grateful for having people who truly cherish her. Even if those people were just her brother and Nahla.
"You don't know the amount of times I wished you came with us. It would have been more fun that anything I'm describing now" Lina smiled. "Next time Insha Allah" Nahla smiled back.
"Insha Allah. How's Busra? I hope she's feeling better" Lina inquired about the person who was on a hospital bed just a day back. "She's all fine now, I had a phone call with her yesterday and aside the affirmation she gave me, she actually sounded fine" Nahla replied.
"Great then, take me to Khala Noor's someday"
"Sure, very soon at that since we don't have anything going on now" Nahla voiced. "It feels so unreal that we've finished our final exams and once the results are out, we'll be certified fashion designers" Lina said.
"It does, but I can't wait to get out there and spread my talent on every piece of fabric I find" Nahla sighed dreamily. "Well unlike you, I doubt I'll make any good use of my certificate. I'll prefer to work under someone than to start over by myself"
"Wouldn't you want to partner up?" Nahla asked. "Nah I think I'm good, but I'll make sure to be your favourite cheerleader" Lina grinned. "You already are Lina" Nahla affirmed.
"Food is ready girls" They heard Ummie's voice from a distance calling them for lunch. "Be right there Ummie" Nahla voiced back with a high pitched tone to ensure her mother heard her.
They did the needful of leaving the room almost immediately for the dining room. The three of them sat almost at the same time and after Nahla served their food, they ate to satisfaction.
After lunch, they didn't bother to return to their rooms as they sat in the living room to watch a movie.
About halfway through the movie, the door bell came. "Was someone coming over Ummie?" Nahla asked Farah who was also surprised to hear the bell.
Yes they do have people come over almost all the time, but each time they call first before coming. That included the people at Khala Noor's.
"Not that I was informed no" Farah replied. "I'll just get the door then" Nahla offered while she headed to the door. She didn't bother to peep in through the door hole before twisting the door knob to see who the person was.
