The Radius is the second and shorter long bone of the lower arm. Its almost flat, rounded head articulates with the trochlea of the Humerus and the olecranon process of the Ulna has a notch which allows the Radius head to articulate and rotate against. This particular joint gives maximum flexibility to the lower arm, freeing the Radius to cross over the Ulna. The Radius has a large distal end that articulates with the Navicular and Lunate carpals, as well as with the distal end of the Ulna. The Dorsal Tubercles are also known as Lister's Tubercles.
