The Os Coxa is also knowns as the Pelvis or the Innominate bone. It consists of three parts: the Ilium, the Ischium, and the Pubis. It is considered one of the most important bones of the skeleton for sex determination, aside from the skull. This is often done using the Greater Sciatic Notch, the Iliac Crest, the Pelvic Girdle (which is the shape formed by the two Os Coxae together), the Pubic Angle, the Acetabulum, and the Obturator Foramen. It is also considered very useful for determining age using the pubic symphysis.
Key Measurements:
Maximum Length - the Ishial Tuberosity to the top of the Iliac Crest
Maximum Breadth -the distance between the Anterior Superior Iliac Spine and the Posterior Superior Iliac Spine
