12th June, London

Tonight was the much awaited celebration of Taylor and Ricky. I knew it was going to be a grand affair. Not in the sense of it being large and gaudy but because Taylor knew how to throw a party. There was always a theme, tonight's was black and white, always personalised decorations and hand made party favours. She was theatrical, my little Taylor. Everything was a show.
I know my friend was trying to be considerate planning her engagement party the night before Harry was playing Wembley and she knew he would be in the city, but it really wasn't ideal. The days off in between shows were previous down time. He'd been on tour so long he was exhausted. He should be spending the time resting, meditating, getting some alone time. I gave him an out, I told him he could stay home and rest up before the show but he was adamant he wanted to go to the party. "I wanna dance with my girl" he told me on the flight home from Ireland.

Ireland by the way, was fucking magical! I mean, we were in a damn castle! It was unreal. I had so much fun. Given that it wasn't a stadium, it was a completely different experience. Looking out to the crowd was mind blowing, I didn't know how Harry did it. Mitch too for that matter.
Harry and I along with the band watched Mitch and cheered him on. Dancing and singing along. I was having the time of my life until I realised there was at least a hundred cameras pointing in our direction. That's a quick way to make you feel self conscious about your two left feet.

The show itself was something else. He looked beautiful and performed great of course but there was something more. It was like he was feeling the energy of the greats that had been there before him. He was spectacular. It was a night we would all remember for the rest of our lives.

Taylor and Ricky had hired out a room in a bar in SoHo. One of those trendy pop up bars that only last a few weeks. I had to admit I was nervous about the night. It was the first big social gathering Harry and I would attend as a couple with so many of my friends in attendance. Old colleagues, university friends, not to mention two of my ex boyfriends. I couldn't figure out whether I was a bag of anxiety over all these people I hadn't seen in a long time or whether it was just excitement over celebrating my best friends commitment to one another. Probably a heavy mix of the two.
I'd chosen a floor length black silk slip dress with an open back and an acceptable length slit up the side, Harry just a black suit with a white shirt. As he helped me lace up the back of the dress and his fingertips caressed my skin lightly, I wouldn't nothing more than to skip the night and stay home with him. Maybe we should have.

The place was packed by time we arrived. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of fizz when we walked through the door and I couldn't help but marvel about how elegant the place looked. The room was darkened, low lights with most of the lighting coming only with candle light and flickering fairy lights. Clusters of tables, adorned with crisp white sheets, sat around the edges of the room with a group large black candles sat around them. The majority of the room had been laid with a clean white dancefloor, that was lit from underneath. From the centre of the ceiling out, fairy lights had been strung, giving the illusion of a starry night.
It seemed like the outdoors had been brought in, with each table having a small bare tree in the centre. Small candle light lanterns hanging off each branch. Everything was clean white, the deepest black or golden, and it gave the illusion of a fairytale.
The tables were quickly filled up, with even more people milling around the edges of the room. Some even going straight to the dancefloor, bypassing sitting down all together.
It was truly a Taylor party.  I was glad to see that everyone in attendance had stuck to the colour theme. It made the place look even more like something out of a movie.

We walked through the large room hand in hand as we headed straight towards my closest friends. Meg, Ally, Carly and Gina stood at the bar along with a few other people we went to University with. I did notice that Carly was accompanied by the man I last saw her drunkenly snogging in a dirty bar in Camden. Louis's friend. I couldn't help but laugh to myself. Of course she would end up dating him. A guy who lived miles away who she didn't really have to commit to.
